Pearce on the outer at Newcastle over sexting scandal
By The Mole
Some senior figures in the Newcastle club no longer want star halfback Mitchell Pearce at the club following his sexting scandal with a female employee.
Officials are concerned at a split that has developed in the playing group in the wake of the scandal - that saw Pearce's fiancee call off their wedding this week - going public.
The staffer is a close friend of several players, most notably respected back-rower Lachlan Fitzgibbon, and his relationship with Pearce is now described as 'icy'.
Officials are worried that the situation in the playing group will be untenable as a result of the scandal and are considering releasing Pearce to a rival NRL club.
A swap with another club for a playmaker is another option.
Pearce is already expected to be stripped of the Newcastle captaincy but some within the club believe harsher action is necessary to retain harmony among the playing group.
The club's players and staff are on Christmas/New Year break until January 4 but officials are assessing their options.
One possibility is to bring Cowboy Jake Clifford - who has signed with the Knights for 2022 - to the club a year early.
Another is Gareth Widdop, who is contracted to English club Warrington but is desperate to come back to Australia to be closer to his children.
But all this hinges on whether another club would be willing to pick up Pearce, who has a year to run on his deal.
At 31, he remains one of the most talented halfbacks in the competition and a fresh start may be the best thing for both him and the Knights.

Wow, how unusual, we don't get mentioned as a possible destination

Seeking fellatio off a dog while being filmed confirmed years ago that he's a dope.
And she doesn’t seem to be any smarter for dating him and potentially marrying him , knowing his history .
Drunk or not, what he did with that dog is not normal behaviour and she was well aware of it. Each to their own, some women like to hook up with “ famous “ people regardless of how socially screwed up they are.

Only reason we didn't get a mention is they'd be concerned it's another offensive dog joke aimed at Pearce

Takes two to tango. If he's cut/sacked from Newcastle then I hope the woman is sacked as well.
That would depend on whether she encouraged him, or he just decided to hit on her. Some guys think their attention is always welcome, especially if they are "stars" and on good money.

The details are still sketchy. Let's wait and see if the Knights do take the captaincy off him, then we'll know if there's any substance to this rumour.

As much as I loathe Pearce, I can't stand the tabloid media "reporting" this story so comprehensively as if we should give a fuck. Big deal, athletes and celebrities cheat. Who knew?
I have always had the impression that the media was Knights friendly... consider the errors the Johns brothers have made and yet have lucrative post-playing careers in the media... think how many drugs issues they have had, both performance enhancing and recreational... there were players I did not have too much time for but there is media push, especially by the likes of the Johns', and hello origin selection, starting spot, captaining your state for said players etc.

and yet, all we hear about is the Hunter community, working class, league heartland, salt of the earth etc.

in comparison, a 'Dogs fan (I'm assuming) let's off a fire cracker at a match - not identified, no injuries - and the Footy Show does a full segment in prime time titled "Terrorism in the stands"... like Fatty and those other boofheads are even close to competent to speak on such a serious topic or even take such an approach with any other club

and let's not forget what what the media put Elliot and co., the club, Pay and the fans thru with the Mad Monday stripping... Elliot and co. were criminally charged even

even with Pearce, the angle is his personal shortcomings and not a club issue but regardless of what happens involving the 'Dogs (or doesn't happen --> Coffs Harbour), Rothfield, Webster and the rest will always portray it through the lens of us as a rotten club

the media act in bad faith

Mullen-drugs
