Looking to buy a 2 bedroom apartment in Merrylands (iniatally want Parra, but now with the inflated prices it's a bit out of my range).

Anyone here live in Merrylands? Good place to live?

I've heard that Merrylands West is the side to avoid, im looking to buy near the station so not really looking there.

Are there any dodgey streets I should avoid?

All I know is there are a lot of shootings and John Ibraham lives there somewhere.

I had an ex that lived near the station as well. You're close to Parramatta FWIW 5 min drive oh and Vitamin King is there as well, cheap supplements.

Na, on a serious note. Where abous near the station? near the station as in on Military Road? or the opposite side? because it can get real noisy when the trains come its seriously loud, you get those transport trains coming through as well.

Im not sure, i dont know the area that well.

It doesn't really matter which side tbh. I dont mind the noise (means I can make my own noise and no one will care). I'd just like to be within a 10min walk to the station.

I saw one on William St which is ideal, but the real estate are selling it as a "Tender" basically a blind/dutch auction. means you can only put in one bid, so your highest. It drives the price right up. mother****ers

Good hardworking families live there, hence the chances of women "putting out" due to stress increases.

Shootings happen all over sydney these days (including north shore). I live not too far from that where that villawood shooting happened.

dont go looking for trouble, trouble wont find you.

Around the station is decent enough. Ridiculously bad drivers there though.

Amen. I used to live one suburb over in Harris Park. The driving standards in that neck of the woods are amazing. We lived in a quiet residential street which had roundabouts every 100m or so. Dickheads loved to rev as much as possible coming off a rountabout for 90m then emergency brake for 10m, just to maximise noise (and presumably wear on their brake pads). This would happen any time of night or day.

I don't miss driving standards there at all.
