This old lady is 93 has her say about the Shrine of Remembrance protestors (seems FB have changed their format and it can't be universally shared on anything other than to FB users)

let me guess, something like the protesters are unaustralian and the anzacs were fighting for the pharmaceutical companies against the unvaccinated Turks

"No, a Melbourne protester did not die after being hit by rubber bullets

Protests held in response to a vaccine mandate for construction workers in Victoria caused widespread disruption in Melbourne last week and saw police use rubber bullets, pepper spray, foam batons and smoke bombs in an effort to disperse crowds.

But some images and videos spreading on social media and purporting to show injuries inflicted by such police measures were not what they seemed.

In one example, a video of a man lying on the ground covered in blood quickly went viral in anti-lockdown social media groups, with some going so far as to claim that the man, Kyle Mitchell, had subsequently died.

"Kyle Mitchell, from Melbourne, Victoria, who was one of the protesters who participated in the Melbourne shutdown and pro-choice demonstrations, has reportedly passed away from injuries sustained in the shooting that occurred in Victoria," one widely shared Facebook post reads.

"This is NOT about Health or Safety! Killing unarmed citizens who are exercising their free right of speech is an outrage!"

But while Mr Mitchell had attended the protests, he confirmed on Facebook that he was alive and that his injuries were not sustained in an incident involving police. Rather, they were the result of an "altercation with a store owner".

The Daily Mail further reported that Mr Mitchell's friends and other witnesses said he had attempted to steal from a bottle shop and was "glassed" in an ensuing scuffle.

Meanwhile, a number of graphic photos allegedly showing wounds suffered by the protesters were found by fact checkers at Lead Stories to be unrelated to the Melbourne rallies.

The three photos analysed were all years old and had originated in Buenos Aires, and the US cities of Ferguson, in Missouri, and Louisville, Kentucky."
