Good that Burton wears headgear. Looked good in the limited highlights. Even with the Souths tries, you saw him following play and getting involved.
How did we manage to sign him?

He looks like a future Dally M winning 5/8.

Has footwork, speed, a kicking game, a running game, can break tackles, and can read the play.

Blue over Burton continues
With the Bulldogs and Penrith doing battle this weekend, the talk around Matt Burton's future is no doubt going to resurface.

As far as Penrith are concerned, he won’t be leaving this year. The Panthers know they will struggle to win a premiership if Jarome Luai or Nathan Cleary get injured and Burton is in blue and white.
It's why Canterbury even offered to release Burton back to Penrith if they got an injury to their halves, but Penrith were having none of it. You can't blame Canterbury for trying.
FMD and they still said no. Wouldn't it be better for them if he was playing FG with us, getting NRL experience and getting used to the pace of the game, rather than being stuck in NSW Cup and coming up against Lewis next week. What a bunch of dumb c***s Penrith are

If that article is true than we have nothing to lose and everything to gain from a deal like that. Stupid.

Burton and his manager couldn't have been too impressed when that idea was knocked back.

That seems ridiculous for mine haha
Round 1 plays NSW cup
Round 2 plays against dogs in NRL
Round 3-12 plays for dogs,
Round 13-16 plays for Panthers
Round 17 Clearly back from injury/ tik tok suspension and he returns to Canterbury

Just seems impractical haha

Imagine TK if Lewis the fully sick tackling machine tackle's Burton injuring him and taking him out for the rest of the season.

I’m starting to think Burton might be a political prisoner or something like Mandela was or Julian Assange . . . “ Let him go you bastards he’s done nothing wrong “
