what a purposeless article to speculate that due to our current troubles Burton may want to do a DCE style backflip on his 2022 contract with us even though your due diligence had you contact Burton's agent who confirmed that the contract has been signed and registered with the NRL... in other words, no backflip possible

the article literally lacks any substance whatsoever

the Australian sporting media should be dropped off en masse at Centrelink... pathetic

Burton knows he is not at the top of the queue at the Panthers and isn't likely to ever be whilst Cleary and Luai are there.
He also knows that no one can fix a club in a few weeks, and that half of our squad are off contract this year. Next year is when things will start to change.

Probably sees us as a opportunity to show how good he is. Imagine us finishing bottom 4 then when he comes were a top 8 side.

I think Burton is playing it pretty well... he has sought a release but accepted the decision of the Panthers to keep him for 2021... he has done what has been asked of him and played well in reserves, in the halves, at centre.. he knows he will not get the playing opportunities at the Panthers he will get with us as he is currently behind Cleary and Luai... by signing with us, Burton is also looking after himself financially as he will earn more with us and we will not have the same salary cap pressures as the Panthers who will have a host of players taking up big portions of the cap (Cleary, Luai, Crichton, Kikau, Yeo, Leniu etc.)... in fact, I think Burton will be close to our highest paid player when he is coming off contract in 2023 and hopefully re-signs... and he just may be part of a premiership winning team this year

yep hope he likes a challenge and it seems that nothing fazes him(except maybe dickheads asking him if he is considering renegging), it is pretty crucial we bolster our forwards and clear out the deadwood generally so as to give him every chance to hit the ground running at 180 miles an hour.

He will be offered to lead our team around for the next 10 years

He can see, as all us Bulldogs fans can see, he will absolutely own this team and looks likely he will have the same all encompassing influence as JT had at the Cows.

You dont pass that up to play second fiddle to Kid Cleary.

Like I've mentioned before, I know Burtons long time friend and our club sponsor, he is STILL coming because he WANTS to. He is a man of his word and looking forward to the challenge.

To all the scum c*** "journos" who lurk here like pedos at a public toilet, report this you scum bags.
They are like pedos because half of them are

It will happen soon enough. They are losing readership every day because of crap like this & "journalists" are having to find alternate careers. It must be hard for them, because being a "journalist" in Australia means reading forums & social media or asking people to contact them with stories. None of them get out & look for them any more.

Burton can’t do it on his own.....he needs quality players around him
