Exactly.

Had a terrible game today and has been mediocre most of the year, but where is his halves partner? Flanagan does absolutely nothing all game other than die with the ball.

Put Averillo back at 7, he and Burton had the best combination out of the halves so far.

Yh I know that, I meant that it could be a french bulldog because there ears can be floppy like that when they're young. My sister's one straight up looked like a bully when he was a couple months old

I don't think we should jump anytime soon to extend him without proper evaluation, coaching and a legit partner. The only issue is being pressured too come November, I'm sick of seeing the club being duded by player contracts and in Burton's case it could go either way.

We won't know if he's worth keeping until he's got a legit partner and proper coaching and that won't happen until next season.

Realistically, by round 10 next year with Mahoney feeding him will show if he is a half or just a centre with a big, inaccurate boot.
 
People need to listen to be more. Burton is a DEVELOPING half and was ALWAYS going to experience the same struggles our other young halves did. People simply thought he was better than he actually was and a lot further along in his development because he played and a gun Penrith side/system. Even the games where he played in the halves he had little involvement until he turned it on with some big plays. He's a ball runner that lacks a lot of polish and unfortunately for us here just isn't much room for our young halves to run.

He could have had Cleary next to him but they rated luai a better player ..

I don’t really want to be saying this out loud because like most of us I really rate him and think he’ll be a superstar.. but today he looked like he’d checked out and wanted to be somewhere else and I saw it last week as well (although not as obvious). Hard to know for sure but I get the feeling he’s taken Barrett’s departure really hard. Maybe having played under Barrett at the Panthers meant that Barrett knew how to support him and Potter et al either can’t or won’t do the same? I can’t imagine Gus isn’t totally onto this and I’m sure Burton has some close mates in the team (JAC is clearly one of them) who can help, but I am getting an awful feeling that Burton is really starting to regret coming to us.

What sort of logic is this? Why would Panthers break up a Premiership winning and SOO halves pairing for a kid that might or might not be better? Lol

I don't think he was ever in their plans for the halves, they got cut because they lost the Dally M centre of the year.

Burton is struggling cause he has shit around him, Put any other player in his position and they will fail,
Burton is a running halve not an organiser, flano, JMK , Dufty , JJ , shitmons, Waddell are all bigger problem.

People are angry and upset. I don't understand how management would blood a rookie in the halves with a jellyfish as a spine in a shit team.

He may be a good half down the track with a better spine but all he is now is a Damn good centre.

I’ve said it before put Averillo back at 7 and Burton plays a lot better, Flanagan and wakeham have failed.
Anyone that knows how to play league will tell you that the halves need room to be effective,
Burton and even flanoget the ball late.
