I reckon Des would jump at the opportunity to bring back Hoppa. He can provide cover for the backline and when turbo gets injured
Hopoate off contract so he can sign him anyways.

Very true. Would have been easier to push if Albert was still their also.

Since signing that extension upgrade he has been terrible
Was non existent in last years origin series and taken that slow ploddy form into 2021
Guys not fit either... Isn't a lock that suits the modern game imo. He still plays middles, but is more suited to front row now and should be interchanged as such

As much as emotionally I’d like Marty back. I’d go after sua , capwell and lui from Canberra. If any money left a hooker. The rest spots filled by juniors

Taupau, 31, has another year left on a monster Sea Eagles contract – worth about $800,000 – but the Sea Eagles would not stand in his way if he wanted to switch to a rival at the end of this year.
Even better if the Beagles have to pay freight for 2022.

Wow 800k fmd lol well whilst i've reconsidered my age bias we don't want to be paying a huge amount of that figure that's for sure.
We might not need to though.
He’s contracted at the Beagles for 2022 and if they’re keen to move him on they’d have to contribute. If we nabbed him for $400k for next year and have to pay a bit more for 2023 to see him out could be a great buy.

No thanks. His defence is below average. He is a one dimensional player who lost he mojo sometime ago. I would be targeting Bunty over Martin.

Offer him a 2 year deal for 2022 and 2023, pay him 500K and let the sea eagles chip in 300K for the first year. Yes he just turned 31 but he seems very professional and treats his body right. There is no reason we wouldn't be able to get good service out of him until 33. He seems like a real leader and has the respect of his playing group, exactly what we need for our young side at the moment. His injury record is great too, since 2014 he has played 154 out of a potential 176 matches. The only year he played less than 20 games was 2020 (with a reduced 20 round season). Consistently makes 130+ metres & 25+ tackles a week.
