Wow, just wow. Like a dog with a bone the Police won't let this one go. They were understandably upset after the initial trial decision where they felt that they had a positive case against him only for the "victim" to change her story. This will be a bit of a test case and may quite well be a line in the sand for those who want to firstly report someone for abuse and then cough, cough, have an epiphany and say that their original story was not the truth simply because they were traumatized at the time.

I said at the time that she basically perjured herself. Sure you can be upset and perhaps embellish a bit but she went full 360 with her story after telling the operator who took the call that she feared for her life.

The photo in the paper showed them holding hands ( just) and both were looking down with a rather guilty /angry look on their faces.
