Hi guys,

Thanks for being patient this week whilst we upgraded a lot of essential software for our server.

The upgrades to the server are in preparation for a couple of new features we're looking to launch before the new season, namely, the news portal/blog component.

In the process of upgrading the server software, we were required to roll-back the server a couple of days, so you might notice the a day or two of activity missing.

If you notice any bugs, please feel free to report them to any moderators or email us directly at thekennelforums@gmail.com

Thanks for your patience and Happy Holidays!

-Nash and the team.

You will be adequately compensated Rodzilla. I have added 4 posts to your post count and issued you with an additional reputation bar.

Why aren't members informed in advance when sizable maintenance is due to occur?

You will be notified in advance in the future. What we thought would be an overnight process stretched to a few days, we apologise for that.

Such is the world of IT, and it's an all too familiar story, so I know how you feel!

Customer: How long will it take?
Me: Oh shouldn't be more than an hour.
* Six hours later *
Me: *tearing hair out wondering why something so simple can go so wrong*
Customer : Here are the keys, lock up when you're done.
Me: Okay!

Maybe we need a redirector to another host with a simple landing page to say the site is down or re-point the DNS to it.

If I knew I could tell you. Sadly not sure what went on.

But yeah, Twitter account would be the best way to update on server outages. That said sometime systems go down when you aren't nearby to fix them.

Nash will probably clear this one up in next few days :grinning:

Ah, crap.

My productivity while at work will plummet again. Good to be back.
