Goodness you have no idea and obviously no memory. Lewis was dynamic when he first hit the FG squad back end of 2018. He had so much time, he kicks well, can pass both sides, his defence is strong and he tries his guts out. In other words he has the requisite skill set.
Of course more passes finding the player and the support being in the right place at the right time ....which is the coaches role not Lewis's....and getting him to take the line on more himself... are things Barrett will work on.
I'm excited for the Prince of Belmore continued development next year under our new coach.

He is a bad version of josh Reynolds mixed with mbye. I said it all along. I’d rather lose with someone that can cut out pass and hit someone on the chest. Or can grubber or even find the grass with a kick once a game rather then lose by 2-6 with Lewis ball hogging and stifling the attack.

All our young halves make stupid errors every game. Just frustrating that Lewis who is the oldest and has had the most chances keeps on getting picked. Cogger has been put in and out of the team more then Ron Jeremy on a porn film. Kid has probably sat out more games lately as the number 14 then he has actually run on for.

To be fair he is good in front of the camera, like Elliot, Mybe, DCE, etc. The media loves those types of well spoken players so they always get a "free ride" in the media. No doubt his pretty boy looks and his uncle also have something to do with it

Where's the sense in having Cogger on the bench and not playing him.

One more reason to let Foran go bc that must be the reason.

Cogger entitled to really feel let down by our coaching/selection system where he sits there all game waiting for our million dollar half to come off.

It affects the forward rotation as well.

A crazy situation that I dont think any other team or coach would tolerate.

There are too may deficiencies to sort out. Avo and BBO both have great footwork, speed, acceleration, vision, natural instincts and x-factor. Even if they had no passing or kicking game, it would be easier for Barrett to turn those 2 players into gun halves rather than waste time on Lewis who doesnt have any of those attributes.

I'm no Lewis fan and wish he was off contract this year but he isn't. TBaz is stuck with some players next year whether he likes it or not. What he can do though is coach Lewis and Wakeham and see how and if they can develop into players that he thinks can help us push to the top of the table. He will have a lot better idea about them this time next year. I would love to get Burton though as he definitely has a much better rounded game and his potential is exciting.

TBaz did say he thought the squad as a whole could improve so I can't wait to see which players do develop and improve with some real coaching. To be fair to the whole squad I think the club has let them down in the past couple of years due to our coaching structure and players haven't really developed in that time. Let's see what happens next year

It all depends on who Baz thinks is the best fit for the team. Who knows which young half will excel the best under his guidance.

If it's Lewis first then give him a few games and if he doesn't produce bring the next kid in.. personally I would try as many out before June 30 so U have the chance to grab any mid year signings.

We've become the new Parra hoping for players to come good. Every time someone came thru their team it was "is this going to be the first halfback since Sterlo to bring us a title".

How times have changed where we used to accept nothing but the best and scout for the best talent, now we waste year after year hoping players will come good.

An example of a player you're talking about would be Flanagan. He's played a similar number of games to Lewis and he was signed by a team and coach who could work on his deficiencies and get the best out of him. He also has a class half playing next to him. I can't see any coach getting that from Lewis, especially if he has to play alongside an equally inexperienced half. In fact even Pay initially told him to look elsewhere when he arrived.

As for Eliot that's another example of a player who wouldn't cut it playing for the bulldogs in days gone by, now he's seen as a leader.

I agree he could make a good Grimaldi style lock but I will reserve my full judgement until Baz gets a hold of all these kids. Problem is we had our next crop come through and pissed away through Des.

Our nxt crop is coming through now and we just picked up some decent talent, well be back soon.

Flanagan is playing with a 2 time premiership winning team... cannot compare him to Lewis atm.
