Leo Thompson

what was he saying?
When he brought up Leo Thompson how hes declined the Knights offer and going to Market. I think it was Sugar saying that he thinks the dogs will want Leo and Missle just replied pretty confidently then said i think they will get him and will be at the dogs. Take that with grain of salt but that was the jist!

Nrl.com has Thompson listed as 107KG and when you compare that with the likes of AFB (123KG) and Haas (117kg) it seems the lighter more mobile props is where the position is heading.

With the fatigue in the game through the six again rules we need lighter middles with a big motor.

Take the two panthers props for example - 4 premierships in a row and they're both 101kg and 107kg respectively...

Even RCG is about 15kgs heavier than Fisher Harris... Then you look at Curran who had a great year and is only listed as being just over 100kg.

The game is only going to get faster as teams learn to adapt to these new rules and the days of the dominant 120kg behemoth may be coming to an end...

Or they will be good for about seven minutes and get gassed and become a liability ...
Our club dose'nt seem to care to much about their fans they apear to treat us like mushrooms keep us in the dark and feed us "you know what".
So I would'nt read to much into players physical stats on our clubs web site, eg, I would love to know Underwoods stats

Size is one thing but power is another. Leo is a powerful unit, would be a perfect fit for us, something we lacked was genuine power…outside of Kiks, we lacked a little in that area.
We know that attack and defense are paramount, but for a prop power + size = perfect !

100% true... But in essence (as i have been saying here for MONTHS) Thompson should have always been our number 1 target.. hes a better player and has way more aggression than Stefano...
I agree on aggression !

Would you rather have the Andrew Fifita repeat ?

Be very surprised if he leaves Newy tbh

They have released Dsaf, Hastings + Brailey on the outer and have signed his brother very recently

Cash wise Newcastle can upgrade his contract next year vs making him play 2025 on 300k….hard for us to compete unless he is completely sold on our club for some reason

Apparently he's sold in the fact that fans know how much to pay him down the dollar

His brother coming over is the bizarre one for me, do you leave a club your brother is coming to especially when it’s his rugby league debut season? We must be offering decent coin if he jumps ship, we definitely have a more appealing landscape/future and he’d be a starter so maybe that’s the selling point? Perhaps Gus has also mentioned if his brother comes good we’d look at him down the track? Who knows but quality grunt is scarce in the NRL

His brother might've been an annoying little shit all his life though.

I like my oldest nephew. But I have to say that I like him better when he isn't around often. I've lived with him twice. The first time was right after my first overseas trip before I was working again. I signed up for a TAFE course, partly to get out of the house more. He went down and signed up for it the following day. So I wound up doing every bit of homework twice as I knew he'd get his hands on it and copy mine. He's got ADHD and loves to annoy the fuck out of his housemates. He spends his rent money on pot then will swear til he's blue in the face that you're behind in rent, not him, he ate just about every snack I bought and swore it was a friend of his who ate them when he'd visit even though he didn't visit as often as would be required.

The second time I let him move in for a few months, he swore he wouldn't be the same. He broke that promise quickly doing the same shit. The lady straw was one day after getting out of the shower I spotted something on top of the linen cupboard in the bathroom, pulled it down and found it was a pair of undies that he'd used to wipe his ass somewhere. Had to have a second shower. Kicked him out that day then found 15 soft drink bottles full of piss under his bed because he was too lazy to get up for the toilet at night.

So there's loads of reasons why having his brother at the club could be a potential anti selling point for him staying.

All bias and us not getting him aside. Who would everyone of rather had. Leo or Stefano?
I think Leo has been a better player the last two years with more consistency each game but Stefano has a higher ceiling.

It’s close but probably Leo as he seems to be a lot more switched on and motivated

Stefano seems to be hot and cold and as it stands and currently I'd pick Leo, under Bellamy Stefano might be become a beast.

it's between the dogs and raiders who are favourites to sign leo Thompson
