Was much better than league of today.
The defense wasn't always as good but the game was much more exciting to watch!

Terry Lamb and Brett Mullens were my fav trys.

As much as I hated Canberra back then I was always tuned in to watch Brett Mullens score a hat trick, length of the field trys.
I've seen Brett Mullens run from the edge of his dead ball line over 100 to score a try.

Much better to watch. Tackling styles much different though. Players would race out of line to belt someone or to shut down a play, resulting in either great hits or holes everywhere. Now its hold your line no matter what.

You're actually right.
Now the players are trained to be all LGBT and politically correct.

I miss the NSWRL

Sonny Bill Williams and many other islander lads I've seen train in the same training pants my mum used to wear to aerobics

I watched quite a few of the 80's and 90's grand finals leading up to this years on Fox. Did not bother watching this years GF though. :p

The 90's produced more skilled footballers as opposed to superior athletes.

The game today has become so professional defensively it appears to be stifled or congested as a spectacle.

The removal of such things as the shoulder charge and fighting have taken away those sporadic explosions that we all loved about the game.

The biggest difference, there are 2.

1. Played by men, not boys - before you'd hide your hurt, not fake being hurt.

2. Betting - corruption

I don't know how they can have that top 10 without Brett Mullins miracle try against the Broncos in 95 (sorry @Kaz)
