Whoever is playing Latrell like a puppet, he needs to get rid of.

Sounds like he's done his dash with the Roosters, Tigers are ready to open negotiations again if he's serious (but could you trust him now), and Bulldogs have remained quiet after saying they have no interest anymore.

Wouldn't suprise me at all if we are lurking in the background and not leaking anything. One would assume he wants to remain close(ish) to Taree, but he's running out of options with Sydney clubs.

Hes calling out selectors and freddy over racism. After fittler picked more aboriginal players then any previous nsw coach ever has. He was dropped and replaced with another aboriginal player who rightfully won man of the series.
Stay away from him his trouble like folau.
If he was concentrating on the game instead of the anthem and other outside noice he probably would have been switched on, played well and still be there.
Mitchell needs fittler to explain to him he wasnt having a go in that first game.
If he cant work that out himself his just trying to stir trouble.

Dumb prick was not dropped over having a bad game.
Was dropped for not having a go for his team mates at all.
Till he works that out the kid will get no where in life.
Only farm he will be on is mine, sleeping in rat infested quarters picking up sticks on 45 degree days.

Now shut up kid and go earn it, just not at canterbury.
The racism card is straight out of the Mundine playbook.

Mundine still claims racism that he never played for Australia, but at the time laurie Daley was playing in his position (who is of Torres Strait Islander descent) and Mal Meninga was captain of Australia and Arthur Beetson was a national selector, and still everyone was scared to call him out on hid sh!t.

If Souths get both Arrow and Mitchell it seems f..king ridiculous. Cook, Walker, Gagai and Roberts already on big coin. It's gonna be like the Roosters Mark II. How can they afford all those big names when we can't afford shit

Time for Hill to make him another offer. He probably doesn't want to go to the Tigers for whatever reason and Roosters won't release him to play with Souths.... He just might settle for our club.

Add maybe Addo Carr to that list if he ends up leaving Melbourne. South's are a Jewberg protected team just like the Rorters in Bondi.

I still have a massive question mark over this whole Shane Richardson thing. Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't he work for Souths, take up a position in the NRL, and then move back to Souths?

NRL need to sort this stupid shit out once and for all. Be it a transfer window, or restricting NRL contracts to only 2 years in length with no ability to pre-renew, SOMETHING has to change because it's turning the game into a joke.

Yeah gotta question how Souths could afford him. And a pay cut? Don’t the NRL not register contracts unless there market value?

And also didn’t Roosters say they would release him for next season to anyone bar the rabbits? Could be toxic next season at the roosters.

He'll go to South's no doubt it's how it's all playing out now after Burgess getting his medical retirement passed so quickly after Jewberg said it wouldn't happen until after the new year. If South's re-sign Walker and get Jai Arrow too then it's complete bullshit and another rort is on. South's are as big of nrl darlings as Roosters and Melbourne.

At least we will know sooner than later about Latrell. I'll be glad once it's over.

Mitchell's Souths hopes fade as Walker agrees two-year extension

https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.sm...grees-two-year-extension-20191217-p53kv0.html

The Latrell Mitchell jigsaw puzzle just became a lot more complicated after South Sydney five-eighth Cody Walker agreed to a two-year contract extension with his club.

After months of negotiations, Walker finally agreed to a $1.3 million deal that keeps him at Redfern until the end of the 2022 season.

Souths will make an official announcement late on Wednesday afternoon once the contract is signed.

The club is also poised to finally secure Origin forward Jai Arrow from the Gold Coast. Should that happen, it will leave precious little wriggle-room in the salary cap to accommodate Mitchell.

That means the only way for the Roosters centre to join Souths next season would be if the Rabbitohs move some players to other clubs.

There was speculation on Tuesday that the Rabbitohs would consider edging Maroons winger Dane Gagai out the door, even though he has two years remaining on his current deal, which is believed to be worth $700,000 a season.

Gagai and Souths slammed reports midway through the year that he wanted out because coach Wayne Bennett wanted to play him on the wing and not at centre.

Gagai's manager Steve Gillis and Souths boss Shane Richardson denied Gagai was on the move. "We haven't had a single conversation with anyone about that," Gillis said.

Souths have also been prepared to move on Alex Johnston for some time and he has been linked to a possible move to the Wests Tigers.

But the Tigers would not be keen to sign a player from Souths just so their rivals can land a bigger fish in Mitchell, to whom they have offered a mammoth $3.3 million deal.

Mitchell, it seems, is doing whatever he can to not sign with the Tigers, to whom he was first linked in early November after rejecting the Roosters' $2.4 million deal to stay at the two-time defending premiers.

The Tigers have not heard from the Mitchell camp in weeks, the last time coming two weeks ago when chairman Lee Hagipantelis ran into him at the Tim Tszyu-Jack Brubaker fight and they had a casual conversation.

How the Roosters relied on only $69K in TPAs yet went back-to-back

Meanwhile, the NRL is watching the Latrell melodrama with interest. It would take a dim view of the 22-year-old taking a significant pay cut to sign with Souths.

Mitchell knocked back $800,000 a season at the Roosters, then $1.1 million at the Tigers.

Head office would be prepared to register a contract with another club for only marginally less than what has been offered by the Roosters, but the value of the deal would have to increase in the final years of the term to bring it back to his market value.

So the stalemate continues, despite hopes Mitchell's future would be determined before the end of this week.

As reported by the Herald yesterday, the Roosters have told Mitchell and his management they want him off their books by January 1.

The club has previously threatened to play him with NSW Cup team North Sydney next year if he cannot find another club.

A stand-off between a strong-minded club, headed by chairman Nick Politis, and a young superstar and his coterie of managers and supporters is now looming.

Mitchell is under contract for one more year at the Roosters. He is on annual leave but expected to be back at training on January 6.

Complicating the matter are the people around Mitchell, who is officially managed by Wayde Rushton but also strongly influenced by Matt Rose.

Rose manages Walker but he has also been trying to do a deal for Mitchell at Souths.

Souths gave Walker a deadline of noon on Tuesday to sign, meaning Rose's hand was forced.
