Its rediculous. I have put a lot of time and effort into what i consider to be some amazing images, yet get fuck l love on insta. I basically just gave it away.
I also have a good mate who has published images in many magazines over the years, and won international photography awards, yet he feels exactly the same way. Yet like you say, this sort of shit people cream over. So fickle.
Tell me about it man. I do photography too, along with many other creative mediums and I use instagram for promotion. In all the years I've been on there, I've increased my followers by stuff all. I don't even want to do it. Frickin hashtags, algorithms and whatever other bullshit. I've looked at ways to increase followers etc. some I've done, others (like buying them) is lame. I'm old school, but even got told by a business mentor of similar age, you have to do it these days. Fuck that I reckon, it's riddled with con artists and fake bs. I'm not even talking about the likes of Lachie Lewis. I find that sort of stuff on a personal level not interesting, but realise plenty of people (women mainly) love stuff about family and kids. Good luck to them.

For a long time I didn't pay attention to likes and new followers and what others had, but the other day I noticed a relo who is in the arts had many thousands of followers, and I think they've had the account a much shorter time than I have. It really got me down man, because I've been at this for years trying to make it a viable business. Then I see that and think it's hopeless.

It's not what you know, but who you know most of the time.

Influencer is a fancy word for "unemployed and sponging off society" these days.
I'm sure some do sponge, but as crazy as it is, if you have enough followers, brands will pay plenty for you to post about their business/service/products. Influencers are basically just another form of advertising. The more followers you have, the more money you can rake in. What a soulless "job" though.

He certainly was an unpredictable character lol
Between this and the stolen speaker on eBay thing God only knows what was going on in the noggin. Probably knew his time was up so didn’t care.

Putting aside his well documented brain snaps let’s face it young Lewis just didn’t cut it in the top grade.
Apart from a trip over to the UK he could be done and dusted as a professional which must surely disappoint him.

They make some good coin on those apps. He just needs a few sponsors to back his videos and he will make more than he would in the NRL

This isn’t news. He wasn’t a “Bulldogs Star”. Move on.

I think social media its a combination of luck and niche.
Same with music, same with say tv progams. ie game of thrones, even squid games.

I just watched a few of their vids and now I want to kill myself. The shit people post and other people waste their time on these days... Fuck me dead. The video with 46m views is the most mundane 10 seconds. Seriously mind boggling stuff lol.
So did I all I could think was this bloke looks like a summer bay surfer not a fucking footballer

46m plus you. Human curiosity I guess. Thats why porn is so popular even though we know how each story ends.........
With porn, it's about the journey before the ending.

Well done Prince. At the end of the day players play the game professionally to support their families. It's all about the money and lifestyle, like any paid pursuit. Influencers can get paid a fortune with regular posts promoting brands. With some time and effort and a switched on manager Lachy and his partner can be generating revenue of well over $2m a year on social media. They could do that for 10, 15 years....earning 10 times what he could of ever earnt playing NRL.
So who has the last laugh all your Prince haters....way to go Lachy...you'll always be remembered fondly for your time at Belmore by real fans.

That’s why I don’t have social media. No Facebook or anything, maybe I’m old school and prefer my privacy, all this younger generation want is likes an attention and it’s absolutely pathetic.!!! Internet has its place, but it also killed all the old traditions.!!

I agree Lachy wasn't the best half back to play for our club but there was more than his lack of talent against him. Our fowards were lacking and some of the coaching was poor. He would of made a good reserve grade half back especially because defence is lacking in that competion. Good luck for whatever he is doing now. It's amazing that so called bulldog fans are still giving him a hard time now for being successfull tick tok socialite
