Why was is disgraceful? Whether it's Benny or someone else, there's always going to be a different view on this.

Personally thought he made some decent points, thought he missed the main gripe people are focusing.

Galvin ripped Benji apart and doesn't realise how much that grates people but ...

Benji is shit. Sorry. But he's shit. What have the Tigers done with him as coach? Because they're 3/6 this year Galvin should forget the rest of it?

So I get why Galvin may think it's best to go somewhere else. I do.

It's been handled terribly by Galvin, and Moses. Absolutely no doubt. But ...

What Benny said right at the end about the CEO having to be the mouth of the club / organisation is exactly right. This should've been dealt with behind closed doors but they've lynched Galvin publically. Ripped him apart.

No club should so that. Don't care what anyone says
Nah, go back and watch it again tas, it was like he was reading of a script and he was sweating like a whore in church, he was nervous and didn’t believe one word he was saying.

Watched it twice and get what you're saying but I was listening to what he was saying. Just like what Anastas said who I thought was a lot more genuine.

Whether Benny was genuine or not isn't really important to me tbh. A lot of what he said made sense and I agreed with. It's what I've been saying all along.

The Tigers didn't need to go public with this in the way they did. What was the purpose of doing that?

So, Galvin said he wasn't extending? Just like countless other players at other clubs. Galvin knocked back big money to stay? Just like countless other players at other clubs. Galvin wasn't happy with the direction of the club? Just like countless other players at other clubs.

What were they hoping to achieve as a club by bringing this out in the news? What were they hoping to gain?

I don't know. For me it smacks of them trying to act the big dog like they always do, but they just come out if looking unbelievably unprofessional.

Which they did again here

I Get what you’re saying mate and I agree with most of it but this really isn’t about the tigers now it’s a wider rugby league issue about clubs taking some power back from player managers

Honestly?

What Gus is doing at the Dogs is taking power back from the player managers.

Refusing to pay overs for players. Building the right culture internally. Preaching player welfare. Backing that up.

The Tigers were happy to throw money around for players like Bateman, Klemmer, Sullivan right? Lining the pockets of managers in doing so. Same as with Laui this year.

So them taking a stand against Galvin is them sticking it to the managers? Nah. It's all hot air. Means nothing when they pay overs for every player that comes.

The Bulldogs on the other hand. We practice what we preach.

Fucking love this club.

That’s why I don’t believe Galvin is coming to the dogs. If Gus pays overs then he loses the playing group and why would Galvin want to come here for 600k a season when he can get paid millions elsewhere.

Agree. But I think this is what Gus is trying to communicate to the world, and especially our youth. You need to be in the right environment to be successful. Truly successful.

And once you become successful, the money will naturally follow.

Trust the processes. Work hard. Be there for your teammates. Be humble.

The right players will come to the Dogs as they won't be coming for the money, but the culture. If Galvin comes, then it'll be for the right reasons and we'll all welcome him with open arms.

And it'll be for much lower than a mil so ...

He's off to the Rorters!

We do now but only because Gus arrived on the scene it wasn’t so long ago we where the tigers and s large part of that was player managers manipulating our board coaches and roster.

I can say from my side as I think I've been quite vocal in this whole thing in not "throwing spears" at Galvin maroondog72 maroondog72 . That doesn't mean I'm defending him though.

Everyone has come out to bash him, but surely you look a little below the surface to think what's going on? The Tigers have nothing to answer for in this whole thing?

Galvin and Moses may have ballsed this up? It looks that way for sure.

But to claim that the heirachy at the Tigers have been angels in this whole thing is a tad naive at best.

It'd make me sick to the stomach seeing Gus and the club treat one of our players the way they've done in Galvin. We're better than that ... hopefully?

Now, if that means I'm defending Glavin to the death fairs fair. I get what you boys are saying, but just don't agree.

I'm fucking loving it though. Love the drama ... when it's not at the Dogs. Fuck them I say.

The Tigers are the ones who made this public with a press release for what? Then to allow players go scorch the earth on social media.

The meeting was private meeting no need to be made public yet instead of of being professional. OK you don't want to sign ask a obviously you know where you want to go. You finish playing to high standard and at the end of the season we will negotiate a early for something in return with your chosen club.

The only thing tiger hold now is they will have the players union on them about player welfare two three week of shit press. Have every other jnr player player thinking WTF and lose Galvin for nothing.

I expect him to be contract free in May playing somewhere June.

might not actually be about the money considering he did reject a big offer from the tigers, guess time will tell come Nov 1.

By any stretch its the Tigers who come out looking like dumb aggressive management and playing roster. It's kinda unprecedented to see the public way this has all evolved.

Going public with what's been said in private negotiations and now the roster publicly humiliating a 19 year old player who already said he didn't want to re-sign....didn't have faith in the club in other words.

And he has been proved right.

Any aspiring young player and their parent or player agent would really be evaluating hard the conduct of this club in all facets of their values.

I have a theory it’s wild but it’s so Gus.

Gus is playing the media with Galvin as a smoke screen.
Dogs haven’t opened talks with Sexton.
Luai has a player option.

Gus really wants Luai and is using Galvin as a distraction.

Lol as that famous Kennel saying goes...

can you imagine the meltdown on here lol

Take the money!! And deliver on your potential. If he’s as good as they say tigers will be a contender most seasons regardless of the coach.

But that sort of money is life changing and at 24 will earn another big deal if he doesn’t breakdown.

Knocking back guaranteed 6 million... it was definitely the easier option to accept for him (and the manager as well really).

He must have had strong feelings about the future in not accepting an incredibly good deal like that.

God I wouldn't want that toxic Muppet anywhere near our club

His future is fucked if his body lets him down. its a big risk which means Moses has already lined up a massive deal at a club more to Galvins liking.

Probably but it's not more than 6 mil tho surely.

End of the day the player didn't want to re-sign and has been hounded by the club, players with media whipping up a frenzy against the kid.

Rightly so he’s done fuck all in the game and turning down that sort of money he comes across as an entitled little shit.

Haha. Mate. I'll never be angry at you or most people on here. I absolutely love a bit of discussion and totally see where you're coming from on this.

At the end of the day, fuck Galvin and fuck the Tigers.

I hope they get relegated ... or something like that!
I'm with you bro.

I think all involved have fucked up, it's like a school yard scrap.

Dumb fucks on all side. I hope the kid learns from this bullshit.

Eels should be giving the Tigers a player, and I presume that is the only way they will get Galvin early. Who the Tigers would want and fit into what they are building, given how the Eels are going is anyones guess. I'd suggest they would want an up and coming player, the exact ones they are trying to keep to build the club with.
Tigers should demand Hopgood, would fit in perfectly into their roster
