Official Lachlan Galvin Discussion

Its a shame our fans are bagging the guy almost as bad as the media who hate on us. That's unBulldog like.

Gus and Ciro are responsible for buying and then selecting the kid (whom they have faith in).

Under those circumstances, we have to believe he does have talent and is going to improve.

What do doubters expect? That he's gonna say to Ciro "I think its best that I play reserve grade"?

Be good to give the kid, now one of ours, a break from the constant pile on from all quarters. Surely he can expect to find some sort of genuine support from our fanbase?

Dogs switched off second half. They went on too cocky after the 1st half and yet they couldn't stop the momentum which is a worry. If Crichton was there on the field Np doubt he would have pulled everyone into a huddle and laid the law down. Kiks I didn't see do that as captain.

100%

Wasn't it Buzz so concerned about the "bad" Bulldogs treatment and public pile on re Flanno Jnr and his mental health. That guy is a cancer to rugby league and all its players whom he uses for clicks and goss.
A parasite.
Galvin is a 19 playmaker in his second full game for a side that on both occasions has been missing 4 senior players.
He forced a couple of passes and was a little unsure about his defensive positioning.
Fortunately he doesn't seem like the sort of person who will dwell for too long on click-bait journalism.

Next week hopefully it will be 5 on Buzz' poll.
Then week after that his public voting poll gives LG a 6.
Then maybe the week after LG might even get an 8 or higher.

Hope that happens as then Buzz can get on his own pole!

Edit: and shove it where the sun don't shine.

After what he's been thru with Tigga fans, the media especially Buzz and Anasta and now our fans, the guy has shown he is mentally tough and be ready to realise his potential with us.

Could take a while but Gus and Ciro obviously think he is a special talent.

The rating is accurate but to actively target a player like this is low AF even for a degenerate like Buzz.
For sure it’s low as fuck, but it was always going to happen the minute we signed Galvin, The Club and this kid are going to be under the microscope every time he plays FG, especially if it looks like he’s struggling, and we’re losing games, this shit has only just started.

Agree bro, but my instinct is to protect our player not pile on with Buzz and these other degenerate fcks. I will not excuse these *****. Fck them all. Galvin will develop and Buzz can EAD

He didn’t have a shocker actually. Considering it was his first time starting at 6 for us, only his 4th? game overall and he had a very different team around him, he did fine. Sexton who has played numerous games was worse so? So was Hayward. Burton had some terrible plays too but was playing centre.

Don’t be like the other mongs and blame everything on Galvin ffs. Oppo fans will do enough of that. He was far from the main problem last night. That was we were simply out enthused in the second half, particularly in the forwards. Hughes and Hayes started well, but faded and when your most impactful forward is Turpin, ya know it’s a paddlin’.

I will say though it was a bit foolish by Ciro to blow the system up that was working, by introducing him, but even still, we got flogged by an under strength Dolphins and LG was still a Tiger so… I think he’s a good bench option.

Btw, he helped set up at least one try (to Monty) and Burton scored another.
I didn't see anything magic about setting up tries unless you call passing the ball magic.

Gus always said he is a "future " star, and a long term project, even Mortimer wasn't much of a tackler or playmaker when he started off, but the potential was there, I can see the same with LG.

I was against signing Galvin, for a range of reasons - including many of the issues that already seem to be manifesting. In the end, I stated that if we went down that road, I'd support the decision and hope it was a big success.

At the moment I'm having a hard time supporting that decision - but, it's early days and time will tell.

There are all sorts of things at play, that Galvin has nothing to do with. Even if this year goes down the tube, I'm keen to see what next year looks like, before I join any pile-ons.
I saw a lot of players go missing in that second half, hardly saw Sexton or Mahoney and a few others, maybe tired or just frustrated, Galvin seemed to be there all the time, is effort whether good or bad was consistant, it all came down to who had the ball the most and thats on our forwards, our whole front row wasnt up to it tonight, not for 80 mins at least, simple as that.

We're all hoping so 2611 :grinning:

Its clear he has attacking talent. Up to our club to help him realise his potential.

Its hard to diss Gus' high opinion of him as he's a pretty good judge.

Gus not infallible for sure but he has the runs on the board and pulled us up by the foot straps into a contender again so his opinion needs to be respected at least.

He'll be having a bit of a personal involvement with LG's progress one imagines. His reputation is on the line with this signing.
