Official Lachlan Galvin Discussion

This is where the concept of looking for decent people comes in. They accept and welcome someone new and welcome team-first mentality. That some things are bigger than themselves! And through that, truly amazing things can be done.

In stark contrast you have Luai. Worst possible signing the Tigers could make, although I did just read that they may be looking at David Fafita lol.

Let's face it, Luai would've had his panties in a twist because Galvin was the talk at the Tigers and not him. I don't know Luai but after quite a few years of watching him I think I have an idea on him. Things like his over the top Try celebrations, standing and laughing over the top of competitors, abusing his own players on-field during the game, being disrespectful during To'o wedding, his on-line comments about Galvin when he is supposed to be a leader. Luai is the sort of signing I would've walked away from the Doggies for. Mark my words, after a couple years of no glory...he will be a hypocrite and walk away from the Tigers!

I couldn't help but thinking about that suggestion about Luai and Critta being mates and that would taint how Critta would be with Galvin. LMAO, as if! Critta has a different handshake with every player, he obviously values people. He comes across as a deeply respectful bloke with high integrity. We all have mates that we know are OR can be wankers, Critta would know this of Luai. As if he (Critta) would de-value his own morales for that idiot and not give Galvin a fair chance to prove his place.
Critta is only 23...that blows my mind... What kind of ceiling does he have. We can build a 10 year squad with Critta and CC if we lock him up.

Is there a chance sexy gets dropped out of the 17? Morrin comes onto bench and Galvin starts. Would be a great smoke screen job if it happens.

As good of a player he was, and the probable reason why players like Luai decided to join the Tigers, I don’t think he is the coach to get the best out of them.

There is a reason why Galvin wanted out so desperately and was willing to take less money somewhere else.

You don't know that. Most of the issues with the Tigers just related to how there club is setup. Accountability isn't there for the football club due to how it's setup. There is a reason why the Magpies (who control the West Tigers) generally had rubbish teams for a long time (They actually got kicked out of the comp with Newtown in 1983, but on appeal were able to get back in). Like all clubs, sometimes the stars align and the right players all appear together, which had Galvin stayed, and with the others they are getting in and have got in, I suspect it would have provided a period of success for that club, which I still feel is possible, but sustained success is hard for a club like this. The directors of the leagues club get to pull all the strings, members can't get rid of them, and at any time they can pull funding etc for the extras that make a club successful or direct the club certain ways. These guys can't just be voted out, unlike the Bulldogs. Bulldogs success can be traced back to how this footy club was setup to ensure there is some accountability and we can be fluid with who runs the club.

Would love Api to come over for a year or 2. He and Hayward can share the role until Hayward takes over full time.

Obviously the salary cap stops that.
Nothing wrong with Mahoney

Just the energy he brings is exciting.. He was always making breaks and half chances at the Tigers, but didn't always have the players around him for it to come off... It's very early days, but just imagine an edge of Galvin/Presto/Critta/Kiraz when they're really in sync

Already better than the last Lachlan we had!

Love how he engages the line fearlessly.

Almost shed a tear when he scored. After the shit the Tigers playing group gave him, this was a dream debut for him.
