The riddle about where Lachlan Galvin’s future lies is still as clear as mud.

As the days go by, and on the back of the Wests Tigers’ 64-0 flogging at the hands of the Storm, the mail is the Tigers are begrudgingly shifting their thinking on Galvin remaining at the club beyond this season.

The way it’s shaping up with lawyers involved we’re tipping Galvin will be at a different club next year.

So if you’re Galvin and your next decision is not about money – as we’ve been repeatedly told - but will be all about the best coaching and the best football development opportunity then where do you go?

Is it the 17th placed Parramatta Eels deep in a full-blown re-build with a rookie coach in Jason Ryles who’s only 10 games into his career and still finding his way?

Is that going to be the best opportunity to improve your development as a footballer?

Parramatta are currently sitting below the Wests Tigers and look like being locked in a crocodile roll to avoid the wooden spoon.

Or is it the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs where Cameron Ciraldo has completely revolutionised the way the club defends, overhauled its leadership, recruited impeccably and currently got the Bulldogs sitting on top of the NRL ladder with eight wins and one loss?

Remember, it’s not all about the money. Otherwise Galvin would have taken the six-year $6.5 million upgrade and extension to remain at Wests Tigers until the end of 2031.

When you sit back and look at it the Bulldogs tick every box right now in terms of what Galvin is supposedly looking for.

Add to this Canterbury-Bankstown’s general manager of football Phil Gould’s charm offensive in terms of public commentary on the 19-year-old dating back to the start of last season.

“I think he’s the best teenage footballer I’ve ever seen. I think what he is doing is absolutely extraordinary,” Gould said.

“Lachlan Galvin will earn more money out of Rugby League than any player in history.

“In the future, whoever has Lachlan Galvin in their side will be winning premierships.”

The Bulldogs are also currently holding off re-signing current halfback Toby Sexton who in fairness has been solid in everything Canterbury-Bankstown have achieved this season.

Then there’s Galvin’s tight rapport with ex-Westfield Sports High School coach Luke Vella who is now an assistant working under Bulldogs coach Ciraldo.

I.N.F.E is one of the tattoos Galvin acquired over the off-season – a tribute to Vella’s saying “It’s not for everyone”.

Trying to read the tea leaves in rugby league is always fraught with danger.

But crystal ball it like this and it’s a relatively easy call to make.

There’s clearly still a lot to play out around where Galvin ultimately lands. But don’t be surprised if the Wests Tigers are forced into giving him permission to negotiate for next season in the near future.

This is when the Bulldogs can decide to make a play.

And repeated last night. I suspect the media want to write there own story, as Parra and Galvin can't speak till Nov 1st. So this will drag on until things happen behind the scenes and the Tigers are happy with whatever is offered by Parra. I get why the Tigers would be dragging this out as Parras roster hasn't got a lot to offer the Tigers currently, well not stuff that Parra wouldn't want to keep themselves.

He will go to Wayne Bennett if he wants the best coaching - and Souths need him.

True though the only reason I give this any real shot is the longer that plays out the worse Galvin must see the eels. Their cooked and Moses isn’t going to be a spring chicken and his foot has got to have some big ?

Plus the line re coaching and development is not remotely accurate with ryles. Was that just words? Possible: I guess we shall see but no doubt if he took 2-3 years here for a couple hundred left his next 10 years he will make a. Fuckload more, compete and develop with a stable board and club hopefully

The more this plays out the more we tick Galvin's needs.
-A team with premiership windows opening.
-A coach and support staff that are having success elevating young players abilities.
-His admiration for his high school sports coach.
-Gus constantly spruiking him as the next big thing.
Whilst I'm undecided about his attitude as it has been portrayed, maybe we can cut him some slack as we aren't privileged to truly know why he resents the Tigers system so much.
If we nab him, I'm sure Gus will ensure Galvin's mindset and focus will be priority to all involved before dollars.

Gus keeps talking about the development of Sexton. Ciraldo has actually mentioned there's a few areas of his game they've asked him to work on. This could just be about them wanting Sexton to prove he's up to the money he's asking for but it wouldn't surprise me also if they're waiting as long as they can for a possible better option. Like Anasta said on 360 last night although Galvin is a 6 he could easily do the same role Sexton does in our team on the right and I tend to agree. If Woods proves himself capable of NRL in the next couple of years we could look at not extending Burton when it comes time for that conversation.

Even if Gus and co decide to sign Galvin they wouldn't want it getting out they aren't re-signing Sexton until after the GF because it's definitely going to affect team harmony so don't expect an announcement any time soon.

Galvin does not exhibit the "Team First" attitude that the Dogs demand.

tbf he would have been 17-18 or younger when he first asked for a release... literally a kid.. we saw on the weekend Tigers aren't as "Team first" as the captain would like, so it's hard to blame Galvin for wanting to play in a better football environment.

I rate the kids, but how does he fit into our team?
I can only see 1 option,
He takes Burton's spot.

I really like this approach they are taking with Sexton. They want results in order to give him a contract, nice change from previous years when we just took whoever we could get.

My opinion is Munster and Hughes play two 6’s. Granted neither Burton or Galvin are anywhere near that level (yet) though I think it makes us a fuckload more dangerous than sexton.

I also will say this whole media shit is over the fact tigers went to extend him, pushed for an answer and he said no. He has said it’s so they can plan ahead and not get cucked on market. Fair enough in my opinion. He obviously knows he wants out and after 3 spoons and the reported shit re the culture etc and bunji as coach I can’t hold it against him.

If he goes anywhere that match’s what he’s reportedly wanting fair enough honestly. If he joins eels then it’s just lol.

dont want him. dosent fit into our team culture and attitude. resign fkn sexton ever a decent halfback is hard to get nowdays. if we get galvin I'll be spewing. RESIGN THE SEX-BOMB

Galvin does not exhibit the "Team First" attitude that the Dogs demand.

We have a future star with Bailey Hayward pushing for a permanent place; and I'd prefer that we retain him over a player who might do another SBW, mid term walk out.
Does anyone really believe that Gould and Ciraldo wouldn't "interrogate" Galvin to such a level that they would be satisfied that he fitted our culture before we signed him.

still the kids been a dud at the tigers. PLUS we have hayward who has been our best 6 this year
Define "dud"?

Not much wrong with his play for a 19 year old, has obviously impressed Gould.

In the Galvin / Tigers area it's the Tigers that are the dud and that's well proven. Even Richardson, who is quality NRL Club administrator, is having huge problems with the Tigers Board and Front Office.
