28 tackles and only 2 misses today going up against Fifita and one of the most lethal left edges in the comp. His defence is very impressive for such a young kid. The impact in his shot on Foran and a few others he put on were great to see. Plus he scrambled well.

Once his attack starts improving and he gains more confidence he's going to be a great all-round player.

Shout out to Oloapu's defence today. He put on some huge shots, did a solid job on Fifita and played with more confidence in attack. He's got a lot to work on but he's showing some great signs.

I'm sure the usual clowns will nit pick and write his career off already though.
Did remarkably well defending big Fifi. His attack can improve obviously but when you can tackle like he can at 18, you’re going to be fine.

Solid as today. Think as CC said in the presser his attack will come in the following weeks. Need to get defence right first and read numbers - very important and he seemed to be able to do that today. Looking forward to seeing him progress but still wouldn’t be against a Hunt type signing for mentorship.

He looks totally lost in attack right now imo.
He'll find his game... At one stage he was swinging from side to side instead of staying planted on one side which shows his settling in and implementing his own game.

No reason to suggest he shouldnt be playing NRL if his D is up to it and his game is evolving.

Who would you have instead?
Well we've got little choice right now but I wouldn't have started the season with An 18 year old, Flanagan and an old Reynolds as our only options.

I haven't seen anything from him that makes go weak in the knees like a lot on here. Probably needs to go back and gain more experience.

How many 19 year old halves are as physical and strong as he was defensively in only their 4th FG game against any team let alone the form 2nd rower in the comp?

He's shown in Reserves he has great attacking skills and talent. He hasn't shown much of that in FG yet. In attack he's been pretty quiet. But once he starts playing with more confidence in attack then we'll hopefully see him show what he can do.

Either way, it was an encouraging performance that he can build off. Defence is always the biggest issue for young halves and at least with Oloapu you don't have to worry about that.

Agree. Defence was good, but we need to score points so I really want to see this attacking skills he has. Just saying maybe he he is not up to FG yet and should keep developing back in reserves for a while.
