The Australian Junior Rugby league selectors have named a team that is bristling with talent and first grade NRL experience to tackle the New Zealand Kiwis junior side.

The team will be led by the likes of Luke Douglas, Mickey Paea, Todd Carney, Jarrod Mullen, Darius Boyd, Brett Morris and Shannon McDonnell, and they will no doubt put on a great show prior to the main game in Melbourne.

The Australian Rugby League Junior Selectors have nominated the following players for the 2006 ARL Junior Kangaroos, to play a New Zealand team in Melbourne on October 21, 2006, prior to the Tri Nations fixture between Australia and New Zealand.

    1 Steve Michaels – Toowoomba

2 Shannon McDonnell – Wests Tigers

    3 Ben Jeffery – Balmain/Ryde

    4 Brett Morris – St George-Illawarra

5 Darius Boyd – Brisbane Broncos

6 Jarrod Mullen – Newcastle Knights

7 Todd Carney – Canberra Raiders

8 Luke Douglas – Cronulla Sharks

    9 Stuart Flanagan – Balmain/Ryde

    10 David Taylor - Toowoomba

11 Mickey Paea – Sydney Roosters

12 Cory Paterson – Newcastle Knights

13 Scott Bolton – North QLD Cowboys

    Interchange

    14 Joel Moon – Toowoomba

15 William Zillman – Canberra Raiders

16 Joe Picker – Canberra Raiders

17 Jacob Selmes – Cronulla Sharks

Canberra have quite a depth. Is Brett Morris the one who has been in first grade, or is it the other one?

Yeah definitely. There seems to be a shortage of halves though IMO. Although Carney is a greta prospect, I hope for the Raiders sake they keep him.

carney has had a great year. he was the difference in a few raiders games this year. i believe he kicked a winning field goal in a game, and also was just awesome on the park for them

also jarrod mullen. was heaps good for the nights this year. he's going to be a great player within the next couple of years. when johns retires he'll really shine imo.
also shannon McDonell. great player for wests.

Josh Morris is the other twin, he hasn't played first grade yet. Like b13 said I would of had Boyd at fullback and either moved Michaels to centre and Morris to wing, or just moved Michaels to the wing. That's a pretty good looking lineup though.
