No Source Josiah Paulu

Radio up here on the Goldy just said the relationship is getting pretty hostile. Such a stupid clause the club put it and a dog act to not play him.
Imagine if our jobs put in a bonus like that in our contracts but told us we weren’t needed a day before you were about to get it. We’d be dirty too

What station.

I live at Robina, not far from stadium & nothing on the stations I listen too at night, I listen to Sen etc

Getting a little salty there kaz

That's the rumour on the GC that he was seen talking to Dogs officials, before the 20 games. (could be payback from the Titans)

Also I don't give a shit, if he gets the money or not. lol

I live on the gc. That’s not the rumour I’ve heard. Maybe other heads have different rumours created inside them.

@TwinTurbo you seem to know heaps, can you find out if the rumour going around that Josiah's manager, met the bulldogs before the 20 games happened.
His agent is Nash Dawson at Titan (no, really) Sports Management. They also represent Matt Burton, Karl Oloapu and a couple of other Bulldogs players plus James Graham. So it would be pretty likely that they have regular catch ups with Gould.

I do recall Gus making a trip to the Gold Coast toward the end of the season

Thanks

So probably the rumour is true, they were speaking before the 20 game clause, the meet up was 'out of the way' but the spies are watching.

Who cares. Titans didnt play him so he wouldn’t get the bonus. Anyone would be pissed. If Titans wanted to keep him is poor management. Rumours of Gus meeting him prior is all fkn noise

It didn't. He didn't get to the 20 games.
The Titans played him because Tino was injured they didn't realise he would play great as he did he played for 19 games and was outstanding they were sneaky and didn't play on the 20 game to save $40 Grand and now it has backfired he is pissed of because they didn't pay the bonus now he wants out who could blame him

Why do you care so much?

Slow news day on the ponies forum?

Because the so called outrage about it.

No one here would give a flying #### about it, but he is linked to the Dogs & the fake outrages is :tearsofjoy:

I am getting all the Broncos news/gossip here.

Even my fake gossip was posted here & not by me. :tearsofjoy:  8-)

Maybe I missed something, but what outrage?

Just because he's linked to the dogs thanks to that article where the tits said, "we won't be bullied"

Seems like you're just looking to stir up shit, which if that's your game and you've got nothing better going on, more power to you I guess :smirkcat:

Mat Rogers spills the beans in new insight into Josiah Pahulu drama at Gold Coast Titans at 3rillszone.com

JON HARDY DECEMBER 5, 2024

According to Rogers, the Titans’ players will be uniting around Pahulu at the moment.

The situation surrounding Josiah Pahulu has been exaggerated, according to former dual-code international Mat Rogers, who thinks the young forward will remain on the Gold Coast. In the midst of rumours that Pahulu might be joining the Bulldogs, the Titans rejected his release request on Tuesday.

According to reports, the 20-year-old made the request after a disagreement over a purported $40,000 incentive payout. Pahulu’s contract had a condition that said if he made 20 first-grade appearances before the conclusion of the season, the young forward would receive a sizable prize. However, he was rested in what would have been his 20th game in the Titans’ final-round matchup with the Panthers, and he ended the season with 19 games.

After the selection call, the 20-year-old reportedly became unhappy and started looking for a move outside of the club. However, because the Titans consider him a vital element of their team, his desire to skip the last year of his contract in order to join the Bulldogs was denied right away.

Joel Gould, an AAP writer, told SEN on Thursday that the Titans had no plans to release Pahulu at this time. “The Titans are telling me that it was because he was injured, but some people are implying that it was a calculated plan on their part to not pay him. They are implying that there was nothing nefarious involved.

With veteran Eels prop Reagan Campbell-Gillard, Klese Haas, David Fifita, and captain Tino Fa’asuamaleaui probably ahead of him in the 2025 ranking, Pahulu’s struggle for playing time is another reason he might be searching for fresh opportunities. And Gould thinks that’s a major reason he wants a release. “The player himself, I’d say, wants to play rugby league,” Gould stated.

Reagan Campbell-Gillard’s signing implies that he won’t play as much if everyone is healthy and fit. Since he is not under contract for 2026, any team is welcome to make an offer to him.

According to Mat Rogers, Josiah Pahulu will stay with the Titans.

Rogers, a former Titans player, has dismissed any notion that his desire for a release may cause him to become an outsider at the team and says he will stay on the Gold Coast after everything is said and done. “I’ve experienced it. I had gone through a small amount and did request a release in 2006. had to leave Sydney because of personal issues with Dad. It was a little difficult because, although my state coaching staff supported the decision, the national coach didn’t,” Rogers told SEN on Thursday.

However, this circumstance (that of Joshua Pahulu) is a little different because, in my opinion, there isn’t an emotional explanation. As a young man, however, the more experienced players will drag him in and get around him. No us versus them atmosphere will exist, especially not with Dessy (Des Hasler) around. A team could have a player that is truly a cancer, and they would release him if that were the case, but that isn’t the case.

According to all accounts, he is a wonderful young child; he would have simply been quite unhappy about the circumstances. It’s likely that his manager would have approached him and suggested that they look elsewhere. However, he is an outsider and is not training alone.
