News Josh Curran

All I can say is I am glad I am not Ciraldo.
Id hate to be the one trying to fit those 3 players into a 1st grade team and get results.
Galvin is still only young and developing and is a 5/8th.
Burton is also a 5/8th and could be a great 5/8th.
Woods will be a great number 7 one day, but still too young and green to change the fortunes of our team.

Id love Woods to get a start in the top grade and persevere with him till he becomes elite,
But Galvin and Burton, how to you fit them both in?
I hate to say it, Burton to centers with a license to kick on the last often when required??? I dont know, I really dont.

I hope I am wrong but I am starting to think getting Galvin was a mistake and not what we needed.
Galvin will prove to be a far greater footballing asset than Burton IMO in the long run. If it came to a choice between the 2 and I was Gus or Ciro, I'd pick Galvin.

Burton has reached the ceiling he is prepared to work for by the looks....Galvin could be anything in time.

But yeah these are only gut feelings from us Bulldog tragics and its all up to the staff and the players...we are only on the sidelines cheering our team and wanting them to do well.

Tk would be loosing the shit about the foward pack if it wasn’t for BURTON….!!!!!!!

His boot gets us out of shit and he can and when he is on he is a beast….!!!!!!!
Burtons boot got out our half because our forwards couldn't bend the line against opposition forwards now with Thompson and possibly Keaon now he is surplus with Galvin And Woods in the half and 5/8

yeah I agree with that, Burto kept us in games with his boot that we didnt deserve to be in.
I think he is still valuable even if you had a dominant forward pack,
his kicking game is a luxury Id rather we had than some other club.

This makes a lot of sense and why he needs on field direction to keep his involvement up to 5/8 expectations and responsibility....maybe Woods can do that? *shrugs*
I really hope so. He's a good player but not everyone is a leader and a get on my back type of person. He's more clutch play or nothing unless someone is pushing him in right direction.

It’s why I’m confident Burton would do well as a lock. He has the size to move to the middle, if he improves his defence he would be a perfect fit.

Just imagine Burton playing the role Salmon does. First receiver in most plays, allows him to lick early, run often and pass to a better playmaker in Galvin.
He would do a job anywhere he's that type of player. I hope he clicks this year. I really do.

Watching Curran in the highlights he is such a strong ball runner when he is on he is really fucking good….!!!!!!!

I don’t know why GUS would let him go either liability due to his past actions or he wants to he sees MONGREL in his recruits.

Hearing Hughes is could go aswell well there has to be a reason or a signing because them too together would release 800k I would say.

I'm hoping something similar happens. A hybrid lock centre role. Defend at centre attack as a 13.

He was woeful defending at centre.. he'd almost be better off defending at lock and attacking at centre. He gets shown up whenever he has to move laterally

He's had a few shocker games with errors and bad discipline (Curran).

As did the rest of the squad but he is quite good he is a great player when he is on. I don recall him making those errors in that game he dropped it like 3 times backed it up with a try. But I’m not convinced until we see latu and so forth.

Has anyone seen the draw we have that came up for BULLDOGS panthers and another team supposedly we have a hard start.

But I’m not worried at all it’s actually good so we can smash the good teams up front then have strong mid season and go for the GOLD….!!!!!!!

I highly doubt we are trying to offload them, that implies we're want them gone now ... it's more likely they've told both players they won't be re-signed after next season and if they can secure their playing futures beyond next year they'd be willing to let them go early.

Him and Mahoney were the biggest culprits. No surprise they were on the outer considering the style we try to play we can't afford games/moments like that.

Forget Tino… Haas… Keaon…

The one to go after if available is Xavier Willison!

That guy is one you’d build a front row around for the next 10yrs & would be way cheaper than the above too
Xavier already resigned 2 years with Broncos until 2027.

The thing that the NRL admin seem to be completely forgetting about is that Galvin initially announced he'd leave when his contract ended because he felt he needed a better class of coaching to take his career to where he wanted it to be. By all reports his teammates made asses of themselves and made Galvins position untenable at the Tigpies by bullying him. The tigpies board then organise to release him and we quickly pounced. Now I'm not sure if Gould had much sway on this. But CC has quickly become one of the coaches that would be in huge demand if he was shown the door. There's not a player here that wouldn't be ecstatic about the turnaround in their form under CC. So Gould's words may have helped, but looking at the situation as a whole you'd be either lying or I'll informed if you didn't acknowledge that Galvin has chosen a club on the rise with a coach who is hopefully going to continue on his trajectory and become a great.

Here's my summary of how I recall this all playing out.

* Galvin announces his intentions to leave for better learning opportunities as he's not impressed with the coaching staff. The media player their part in making it well known and I'm sure multiple clubs subtly made enquiries with his manager.
* Tigpies players bully Galvin.
* Tigers demote Galvin for a week or three (wasn't following it that well back then but I know he was demoted).
* Media call out Tigpies for picking on LG with demotion.
* LG reinstated to NRL team.
* Tigpies arrange Calvin's release.
* Media announces his likely destination as the phallic fish.
* Dogs pounce and sign him very quickly.
* Media start putting unnecessary relentless pressure on LG with unnecessary articles.

Now it's going to be turned into another club to batter teams with gag orders.

I honestly wish that the heads of the NRL clubs would get together and announce a vote of no confidence in the NRL head office and demand change.
