Do the names Greg Waddell ( Penrith ) and Karl McNichol ( Bulldogs ) mean anything to you? Both were paid megabucks before playing first grade and both failed to play first grade! Karl McNicol was poached from the Dogs on a massive $$$ deal and was a complete flop. Don’t get your hopes up too high with this Suaali kid because history can repeat and more than likely will judging on what a prima donna he has been with his ridiculous contract demands.

What a massive shock that the roosters still have cap space to sign him...
No surprise to me, when they need to sign another player they just go out and buy a bigger sombrero.
BTW were always looking to be first at anything going around, so why not make the world's biggest sombrero, their not only useful when signing players but they can also be handy in the hot sun.

I hear what you're saying and there are numerous examples of "the next big thing" turning into overpaid plod. But we've got him for 2 years and 2021 he'll probably start off the bench so we should get a good gauge before his next contract is due. I'm more pleased by the fact it pissed off lol@souffs.

Tedesco has another 4 or so years left in first grade.
This new guy is a fullback how is he going to be fulfilled playing on the wing?

it is always a risk with young players

McNichol is a great example... our squad in 2004 was asked who was the star of the future in the 'Dogs junior grades and more than half said McNichol... and in a time when the salary cap was $3.25 million (or thereabouts) the Sharks swooped in and signed him to a $200,000 a season deal and proclaimed that they had signed the next SBW... he played a total of 11 minutes of first grade football before going back to park football

The big test comes when they've got to play against adults and focus on training when bars are open to them. Plenty of players fall off the map at this time.
