Who knows what this all means if I'm honest. Can't balme him for going back to the UK if the money is the same of better than here, especially considering his daughter. He hasn't hid anything in regard to his intentions so it surely can't be a surprise that he's being shipped around to get the best possible offer.

Don't think this deal is dead in the water, so we'll have to wait and see the outcome of all these talks.

I lower my expectations to soften the blow for when things fail, well these days I have no expectations when it comes to club and it's news I assume the worst scenario so I'm not disappointed. When the good news does come (hopefully) then I'll be unexpectedly surprised

Raiders likely offer him 650
he is neutrally worth 650-700.
Bateman likes Raiders, so would need 70k more at least to tempt.
At this stage 720 is break even.

Adjust an extra 30k for sydney real estate and moving hassles.

750K to me is his signing figure* **

*Assumes ESL do not throw at him 600+

It is understood Wigan are considering making a major play for Bateman, who would be included as one of the Warriors’ two marquee players. Bateman is said to be “open” to a return home.​

There have been unconfirmed reports the Wigan deal could be worth $3.5m over five years.
Super League clubs must lodge 175,000 pounds ($325,000 Australian) in their salary cap for a marquee player but can spend any amount required to sign the player. Wigan’s two marquee players for this year are George Burgess and Jackson Hastings.
It is understood the Dragons have money to spend on a back-rower but would be reluctant to outlay $800,000 a year for Bateman. Gold Coast may also baulk at that price.
Bateman’s manager, Isaac Moses, believes his client could earn $800,000 a season. Gold Coast is desperate for a quality forward while Canterbury has extensive room to move in their salary cap.

Seems most of these things drag out until they go somewhere else. The only signing we made was Thompson and it was on us without discussion. So based on the trend I would say we will miss out.

Im in the same boat, we have more pressing issues than second row at the moment. He is good player and wouldn’t say no. We need a centre, half and hooker more than anything else
