Romelo has to be in the team somewhere. I really rate this kid. We looked so much better when he came onto the field. If the dogs don't find a spot for him other clubs will. He has to play more than 20 minutes a game.

I was very surprised with his zip from dummy half. Plays much more direct than Ennis but in saying that he came in about 25 minutes in, forwards were tired and more room around the ruck. Definitely a Super Sub IMO.

Romelo ,Reynolds they are both high quality players who will be rewarded by Des Hasler once consistency is obvious.I'm not really sure why people are arguing when round 1 was only completed less than 24hrs ago.Consider the conditions last night, consider Ennis's lack of game time and basically give at least 5-6 weeks before we start ruling one player out over another. For me i'd just rather replay Frank Pritchard's big hit in the 2nd half all night, what a shame they didn't give him a try!!!

agreed! if he keeps it up i dont see why ennis shouldnt be subbed.

and to those who wanna drop reynolds for romelo: yeah lets just chop and change willy nilly without exploring our options. fmd des is a professional. im pretty sure he knows what hes doing. if he doesnt work out then ill be glad to give romelo a go at 5/8.

Ok Joel, Pritchard is out - we need you to take out Soward and or Hornby which I'm sure you are capable of and will enjoy.....that is all, glad Hasler is sticking with this guy, we need to hang on to Romelo, just a matter of time now til other clubs start making their move on this kid, bullldogs need to keep him a dog.

Smart move by Hasler in keeping him in the side and giving him a run to keep things sharp and fast around the ruck along with keeping him fresh in first grade, if there is an injury at 6, 7 or 9 this is our guy who will be already in the mix and ready to roll - Hasler definitley having a plan B up his sleeve with minimal disruption if needed, Romelo is solid, shows a sense of urgency and is full of passion with skill to cover all these positions if needed imo, some game time every week is a smart decision imo.

Romelo has always been highly rated. He shared a bench spot in the team of the year in the NYC for 2009 with Garath Widdop, Daly Cherry-Evens and Kieran Foran. All 3 have kicked on in the NRL and are superstars in the making (if not already) in their own right.

I think Des will bring out the best in him. Hopefully Joel's game will improve under Des. He has the talent. Its just now we are starting to see some of it flourish. Was never given a chance under Moore. The guy sparks some great attacking raids from dummy half when ever he is on. Handy bench player, and i like the way we rotate our hookers. But I doubt Des will carry a reserve Hooker for the whole year and also I am sure Ennis wont be happy coming off. Somethings gotta give eventually.

Be pretty happy for Ennis and Romelo to both be on the pitch and switch it up between 9 and 13, give Stagg a rest maybe?

Romelo on for Ennis again and sharpens things right up, this is a great thing resting Ennis imo and keeping it fresh - everytime Romelo comes on the game changes for the better, great move by hasler playing it this way - both great players,

The Ennis-Romelo combo is really starting to grow on me.

Ennis was great in the first 20-30, and Romelo was great in the last 20.

If they can both play consistently great throughout then we will definitely cause some headaches for teams around the ruck.

Romelo should have come on 10 minutes earlier I thought.

I reckon he would be best used:

ENNIS 0:00 - 30:00
ROMELO 30:00 - 40:00 / 40:00 - 45:00
ENNIS 45:00 - 60:00
ROMELO 60:00 - 80:00

ENNIS: 45 minutes
ROMELO: 35 minutes
