IT’S been debated for months and now it’s official — James Graham is the NRL’s best prop.
Graham beat the likes of Matt Scott, George Burgess and Jared Waerea-Hargreaves for the award at the Dally M Medal night.
The man Graham is often linked with, Sam Burgess, was named lock of the year.
The duo would have made a formidable roadblock for Australia in the Four Nations, but Burgess will miss the tournament given his switch to rugby union. Graham has been a standout for the Bulldogs in recent months, and has been integral in *Canterbury’s run to the grand final.

The 29-year-old was already *immensely experienced when he moved to Australia in 2012, having played 220 games for St Helens in the English Super League. He made his debut for England in 2008.
Graham has resurrected his reputation since an ugly incident marred the 2012 grand final.
He bit the ear of Storm star Billy Slater in the Bulldogs’ defeat. Graham denied the charge but was banned by the NRL judiciary for 12 matches.
He spoke at the weekend about his daunting move to the NRL.

“The NRL back home is held in such high regard, it really is,’’ Graham said. “I can remember watching it.
“You’d just get the highlights package of something (Greg) Inglis or (Jarryd) Hayne or (Johnathan) Thurston does and you’d think, ‘how am I going to be able to go over there and play?’
“Seriously, that is what it is like.
“It is pleasing to see English lads, guys like Mike Cooper and Lee *Mossop when he played, come over here and not just hold their own but excel as well.”
Graham will have a big task to overcome the massive Rabbitohs forwards in Sunday’s grand final.
