Last year Gus struck gold with King and Kiraz as bargain buys that flew under the radar.. Preston looked like an exciting signing with his form at Norths and his profile and Gus was hyping him up all preseason, and he backed it up today..

He's been very strong in attack and defence. He makes great contact in defence and wraps up the ball. He's physical and runs with aggression in attack with footwork and skill (think he played halves in juniors).. And he's a tall, athletic kid..

Kikau, Mahoney and others will get more attention and Preston might start the season on the bench, but he looks like a keeper and another bargain buy.
