How do you speak to someone who has indirect contact with someone else& label someone a ****???? Champ get your hand off it. I know him personally and have for the past 5 years so keep your 2nd and 3rd hand unqualified opinions to yourself-don’t play Chinese whispers.
Our roster needs a bit of mongrel he’ll bring it......
Exactly. Mongrel in the form of a lippy 82kg half is just the sort of mongrel we need here.

Desperate times call for desperate measures and I for one would gladly welcome Hastings to the Blue and Whites as long as there was a stipulation in his contract that favors the club. Lets face facts most of the kennel were worried about signing Foran, not me personally as I have always been a Foran fan going back to his Manly days but going by all reports Foran seems to have settled in quite well and has never been happier. Maybe the family club environment of the Dogs is what Hastings needs to get his career back on track. Some times it may not be who or what we want at our club but what we need to move forward to be competitive.

Manly legend Geoff Toovey calls out Sea Eagles, Trent Barrett for ‘agenda’ over Jackson Hastings exile

MANLY legend Geoff Toovey has called out the Sea Eagles and current coach Trent Barrett for a supposed “agenda” pushing their exile of young playmaker Jackson Hastings.

Hastings has been dumped from the NRL side and won’t be considered for first-grade selection again, after reports emerged of a rift between he and captain Daly Cherry-Evans and possibly other players.

Cherry-Evans was fined $10,000 last week for an altercation with Hastings at a team hotel earlier in the year But Toovey — who coached Manly but never coached Hastings — has made a stunning claim by suggesting the Sea Eagles have pushed Hastings to the outer for a much more sinister reason.

Toovey says Manly is trying to force the young playmaker out of the club in order to relieve salary cap pressure.

“Is there another agenda behind the scenes? It looks that way,” Toovey told Channel Nine on Sunday.

“They’re under immense pressure with the salary cap dramas and financial dramas.

Baz's irate Hastings response

“It (looks like) he’s been led out of the club or let go by the club so they can save some money.”

Toovey doesn’t buy the line from coach Barrett that he exiled Hastings because other players did not get along with him.

Senior players have reportedly thrown their support behind Hastings, while Addin Fonua-Blake and Brad Parker said publicly they had no issues playing alongside him.

“No-one likes everyone at work. You have to respect them but you don’t have to get on with them,” Toovey said

“From time to time there is a brouhaha or a punch up or an argument but you’ve got to kiss and make up and get on with things.”

NRL 2018: Six more Manly Sea Eagles players face big fines
SEA EAGLES

Daly Cherry-Evans was one player fined after an incident with Jackson Hastings in Gladstone.Source: AAP
THE fall-out from Manly’s dramatic Gladstone night out appears set to continue with six more players expected to be fined on Tuesday.

Captain Daly Cherry-Evans has already been slapped with a $10,000 penalty following the side’s shenanigans after a round-five loss to Gold Coast in the regional Queensland town.

It is alleged a group of players defied orders by breaking a curfew to visit a strip club on a night that led to Cherry-Evans clashing with out-of-favour teammate Jackson Hastings.

Well the plot thickens, they don't like Hastings but they still took him with them to a strip club??? Ahhh Evans I say you Cherry is well and truly busted :grinning:

Manly will fine the players but they are not going to name who they are so it said on Fox Sports News.

Unless pay can pull a rabbit out of his hat, Hastings is the only realistic option I see to shift Lichaa out of the 9 jersey immidiatly.

Either give Brown a go this week or make the swap for Hastings.

100% dont want to see Hoppa at fullback, I would be happy wirh BMoz @ 1.

But we all know this talk is for nothing, Pay has a hard on for Lichaa @ 9, just like Hasler did for Hoppa @ 1?

Daily Telegraph reporting 6 Manly players to be fined $10,000 each over the Gladstone Strip Club incident...

So ... what isn't being said about this incident.

When 6 players cop decent fines, somethings gone on clearly.

We can't buy anybody I don't think, that should make this years team a tight knit unit, they are being called duds in attack and should be out to prove people wrong, its still half a rep squad under achieving.

Cherry Evans is a flop didn't he have issues with Watmough and Stewart before they both left? Wouldn't surprise me one bit if Hastings only reacted to DCE doing/saying some shit.

So the million dollar question.... what actually went on at the Gladstone strip club which has forced Manly/NRL to fine these 6 players.

I mean it was AFTER the game, so no impact on curfew really, and at most it'd be flying back the next day. So no harm.

There's far more too this than is being reported/released, because Barrett squarely blamed Hastings, not anyone else and did not mention the strip club incident.

Merging this and the other thread under Rugby League General to under Rugby League General.

Hastings isn't a Bulldog and same articles are appearing across both threads.

But not for the sake of losing Brown. We need Brown in our squad. At least he offers some spark in attack.

He's Manly's golden boy guess being on that fat contract the board thinks highly of him and he gets what he wants. That 10k fine was only a facade too

How good ws that Klem slap

Nothing happened they where out after a team imposed curfew not listening to the club laws laid down and the clubs exploding. Getting to take $10k off each player while under financial pressure helps to.

Sign Hastings before we play manly.
