Ha! I wish I could watch the news. I try to do that, and I get protests until I change it over to ABC Kids. Bloody Bluey.
Smart kids. No need to worry about your household :grinning:

You've jumped straight to one of my largest points of conjecture by recognising that porn wasn't freely available back then. To be honest, even 20 years ago porn wasn't as freely available. It actually makes me wonder where the next stages of technology will take us in regards to porn.

While there are some things that would be good about 1821, such as being able to go fishing when there were plenty of fish to be caught, the big downside would be that there could be a huge disparity in circumstances. If you were born into a really poor family it'd be very hard to ever get anywhere in life. I've seen photos of the staff of the local newspaper from where I live from 100 or so years ago. The manager was dressed very well while his employees were dressed in pretty shabby clothes and couldn't even afford shoes. I like to go barefoot around the house, but I'll be buggered if I'd want that to be something I had no choice in.

So anyway. Since Porn crept into this thread in post one. Where do people see the evolution of it going?
Probably pornstar robots like Liz hurley in Austin powers

quick question, if you could somehow choose to live now or 200 years ago in 1821, which would you prefer?

you dont have to pick australia you can live somewhere else in the world, but the point is you have pretty much none of the current luxuries that people take for granted

for example in 1821 if you wanted to watch some porn you actually need to sneak up to a window and watch people have sex, thats putting yourself in all sorts of danger of being caught etc
I think with the luxuries and technologies we have, it would be almost impossible for anyone alive today to go back to the 1800s. In fact if memory serves me correct, only 1 person born in the 1890s is still alive today.

If I had a choice I'd go back 30-35 years to the late 80s/early 90s and relive all the nostalgia that I love. No phones, real friends, real fun, and things that we as children actually appreciated. Not like all the stuff happening today.

By today's standards, I wouldn't mind going to a small village in Europe as they are really old fashioned and do things the old way - see my Small European Villages thread for more info: https://www.thekennel.net.au/forum/...ropean-villages-would-you-live-in-one.113561/
