Put on your cynic's hat for a moment and ask yourself this question.

Put your own spin on these facts:

1. Game 1 in the past 3 years has been decided in Golden Point or by 1 point.
2. The Allan Langer comeback
3. The Andrew Johns comeback
4. The Brad Fittler farewell.
5. The entire 95 series .. when the ARL needed a fairytale here in QLD.
6. The stunning form reversal between games in series such as this year, 2005, 2002, 2001.
7. The influence of ch 9 .. who now have a rating bonanza for game 3.

The truth is out there. Mulder and Scully where are you ?

Which proves its fixed. They picked them on purpose knowing that they suck ass and that NSW will lose!

I think that this years series was fixed in some sort of way.

I mean imagine going to Melbourne for Origin 3, with the result already decided??

What will that do for the game in Melb? Nothing.

But what will a decider do for the game in Melbourne?? The hype, the build-up, the curiosity....

But seriously, its almost impossible to fixed a league game

besides the NSW players dont care about building league in Melbourne, if that was the motivator

Interesting theory thats done that rounds very often.

However i'd like to suggest you'd have a tough time convincing 34 players to play a game exactly how you wanted them to and also the players making it look legit.

i dont think its friggin fixed....its just the way the cookie crumbles!!!
I dont know why players would go in so keen and pumped if they knew they had no influence on the outcome....i think its a stupid thought....but thats me...

with no one complaining after the game or retiring based on those theories

although some players just retire young saying they dont like the game anymore

but i still think its legit, only scambags would continue playing, and there cant be that many scambags to good guys ratio :grinning:

It would be impossible to fix a game in that sense but there are other ways of I guess not actually 'fixing' a game but swinging the odds in a team's favor. For example, chosing 2 out of form halves v 2 international halves, getting players to 'retire' earlier than they normally would and so on. Also refs could be asked to ref the game in a manner that may be more suitable to one team's style of play more than the other in order to increase that teams chances of winning. I'm not saying that games are rigged but if certain people did want the outcome of the series to go a particular way then these are some ways in which they could do it.

the only way to fix games is through the referees.
and we all know how honest they are!!!

No it's not... I can't see people like Hindmarsh or Lockyer wanting to throw a game. Teams just make alot of bad choices
