One day someone will win from out the top 4 but it won’t happen often

To win the competition you have to be top 4 and win your first semi

Any team outside the top four is just making up the numbers this year.

Call me cynical but some games this year made me wonder if the situation has been manufactured to be as it is so that the CEO can crap on about the salary cap being a marvellous leveller, when instead his officials and their performances and interpretations have had a big influence.

Top 6 is the goods, and would rather finish 5-8th and have a chance and get to see us play one or 2 more games then be watching these other teams with no real interest.

Having a top 8 rewards some mediocre sides with finals footy, but at the same time I'd rather have a chance to play finals footy while this finals format is in place than to bow out without the chance.It's an uphill battle to win from the bottom half but if you can peak at the right time it's entirely possible to turn an average season into a strong finals showing.

This year is different to previous ones.
In the past we’ve seen teams make the 8 having won as many as they’ve lost.
Bear in mind that in 2018 we only had one bye so in actual fact 34 points was the cut off this year which IMO says that every side this year deserved to play finals footy.
Generally winning 15 matches guaranteed you a place in the top 4.
This year you finish 8th
