The Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs are into their fourth week of post-Christmas training and are eyeing off a return to the football field in coming weeks.

With only six weeks until the opening round of the season, the Bulldogs currently have six players in the injured group.

Captain Josh Jackson suffered a fractured nose after a training drill and is undergoing minor surgery this week. He will likely resume non-contact training within a week and will aim to be ready for the Bulldogs upcoming Trial matches.

Back rower Raymond Faitala-Mariner sustained a syndesmosis injury to his left ankle during a recent training session which required surgery. The forward will be sidelined for 8-10 weeks.

Jeremy Marshall-King is well into his running program and will commence non-contact skills next week. He will progress into full skills over the next four weeks.

Local junior Marcelo Montoya is continuing his recovery from a serious knee injury. The Fijian international’s running program continues to build. He is currently doing non-contact skills and will be phased into the main squad over the next two weeks.

Kieran Foran is continuing with his shoulder rehabilitation program and this will ramp up once the 29-year old will sees his surgeon in three weeks.

Sauaso Sue is continuing to recover well from an ACL injury and has commenced a restricted skills program. He will look to join the main group over the next two to three weeks.

That will be the end of RFM here. Good luck getting back into the side once Pay gets his boys in it.
Likely. Unfortunately he does seem very prone to ankle injuries these days.

So JMK will only start training with the main group 2 weeks before the season starts? Katoa will definitely be hooker for the early rounds.

From now it seems. So when he's back, he'll start the season in reserves til he gets some fitness back. Hopefully he finds the form he displayed towards the end of last season..

That sucks about RFM. Him and Toomaga really provided punch off the bench last year.

RFM has some good games, but at times I think that he plays sideways which hinders the team a lot. He plays a position that we're stacked in anyway, so I hope he isn't rushed back.

What kind of training drill were they doing for Josh to fracture his nose.

@TwinTurbo said they had a opposed session last week against the Tigers and that’s where RFM did his ankle so it’s a fair chance Jacko did the damage then too.
Thanks. And Holy Hell! If that's our injury list for an opposed session, what's going to happen in the two trials? I've wanted Pay to do more than 1 trial, but if DWZ, Wakeham, CHN, and Napa all cop injuries I might change my tune! :tired:
