you could always count on him to make at least 25 tackles in defence.

I met him at the game on sunday, said hi to him and stuff, and yeh good player who you could rely on every week to make 30+ tackles, great stalwart for the club and we miss somebody like that this year.

Funny we never appreciated what he did for us when he came back from England, the amount of Defence he did Helped Players like Mason and Sbw and O'mealy make the hard yards ,just look around the ruck these days and see the wholes opening up.
On a Great note for Tony he is still heavilly involved with the club he is assistant coach to the Jersey Flegg Side, nice to see.:bdaybiggr

Just imagine training sessions with him, you wouldn't be allowed to leave until you'd made 100+ tackles and run 30+ laps!

Ahhhh Timu, Where Are You Now?

Anyone know what the deal with him was leaving the Dogs back then? I was too young to know player movement reasons.

yeah he was a great player. I used to have a moustache with handles down to my chin. I used to tell my missus at the time it was a "grimaldi"

Tony was really an unseen hero most of the time. Working in the background doing the hard work. He was a sneeky little bugger too lol. I can't remember what game it was but instead of tackling the player he just ran up grabbed the ball and scored under the post. Not only didn't the player know what had happened but even the camera man didnt follow him doing it. So funny. I am so pleased to find out he is involved in the club still. Thanks for this thread.
