I was about 13.
It was when he was doing city country and appeared at harvey norman in Mudgee, where i live.

So i left school early to go to a signing,
Took him some chocolates from mudgee, wrote him a letter and got a photo with him,
which im pretty sure i started crying in because i was so happy.

About a month later a package arrived, and i had no idea who it was from.
I opened it with my mum, and it was full of all bulldogs gear,
and letter from him thanking me for being such a great supporter and encouraging me to always be my best..

I had the biggest emotional breakdown over that package,
Because someone so famous and fantastic had taken their time out for a 13 year old girl in a town that not many people know.

I had done the same for Willie Mason and Braith Anasta at the time, but they did not respond to my letter, which i did not expect.

I still have the package, and everything he gave me, nearly 6 years on.

Thankyou hazem,
You make me so proud to be a bulldogs supporter.
I cant think of the perfect words to describe how admirable you really are,

You have made us the proudest football club in the history of the NRL,
and we love you for it!

x

Jen - Your story really touches me. That is unbelievable from Hazem. No matter how good a bloke we all know he is, it amazes me more and more everytime when I read these stories.

Having a few chats to the bloke and him taking the time out to talk to me was all I needed from the bloke for me to be convinced he's the best bloke ever.

I'm happy to hear he did that for you Jen :grinning:

Hazem El Masri is an absolute legend, arguably one of the greatest role models to ever play the game and is a credit to his club, his team, his family and everything he represents.

I am speechless - the more you scratch the more character you find with this legend!

Thanks Haz!

Great story, not surprising though

Sometimes I questions his current position on the field,

but then stories like this remind you that making the 17 is more then just a physical thing I suppose

I wish he could read this, just so i could show him how thankful i am for what he did.
When he said he will reply to everyones letters,
i believe that 100%.

Nah seriously that was lovely of Haz and I'm sure just one of many things like that he's done for fans everywhere.

Such a genuine person - that is good story Jen.

Like he said on the footy show, he would reply all the fan mail he has received, not many players do that
