This guy sinks a shitload of money into the club. He’s entitled to say whatever the fuck he wants and when he wants. When the comment was made Burton was languishing in reserves.

In all honesty the question of whether staying at Penrith this year helped his development is a moot point. Unless someone has the ability to run a parallel universe where the only difference is that Burton joined us this year instead of staying at Penrith it's not really a testable theory.

I didn’t expect wonders at all. The post was that Burton will be a better player for us come Round 1 next year because he stayed at Penrith this year and didnt join us.

I don’t agree with that. He played 15 games at centre and 3 games in the halves this year. If he had joined us he would have played 20+ games in the halves. He would have got a heap of experience in directing a team around the park, icing last tackle options, etc, etc.

The role he plays at Penrith is nothing like he will play with us

Lol what a dud thread. When Uncle Arthur made his comments, Burton was languishing in reserves. He may not have even got an opportunity as a full time member of the team had the dogs not put pressure on for an early release.
But hey, don’t let the truth get in the way of a good chance to shit on the guy.

Burton staying was the best thing for his development and experience.. making a GF will only help us in the long run .

In hindsight, Burton staying at Penrith probably was the best thing for his football & confidence this year.

But any one who was calling for him to come over to us earlier this year only had one thing in mind -

"The Betterment of our club & our team performances" and I cant knock anyone for that because we all wanted him over asap.

The one thing it really would have helped Burton with is the extra $400k he would of found in his bank balance.

I don't know how many if any of us kenneler's can legitimately earn that in a year.

Agreed . More likely why he got game time this year.

Im glad Burton didnt come to us this year.
He was playing in a winning culture with strength around him.
He would of played in a losing culture with plonkers around him with us this year.
Nothing positive would have come of it.
Not 1 player improved/devoleped with us this year (maybe Shoupp and Avo marginally which isnt saying much).
He will be better next year for us with this years experience at Penrith.

I get some of thevnegative views on Laundy but if you are going to complain about him do it for those things that deserve it. This just looks like you have a personal beef with him. What you used to work in one of his hotels and got the sack?

Absolutely agree.

How many FG games had Burton played before this year? And this year he’s played in pretty much every game?

His games in the halves show he is still a work in progress but that he has unlimited potential.
And playing in the centres won’t do him any harm…his running game and sure hands, his step (and even short kicks 3 wide of the ruck) have been great.

Best of all is his defence. How many tries has he saved? The one on Hughes yesterday early…crucial.

Remember that JT played a fair bit of centre for us before he went to the Cowboys and became an immortal.

Didn’t seem to do him much harm.
