Summary

Positives

No players in the top 10 for errors or conceded penalties. Also the defence of our halves. Despite the criticism Hodkinson receives for his attack (or lack thereof), few would question his defence. It’s great to not see his name nor Mbye’s amongst the other halves in the missed tackle counts (Thurston, Wallace, Robson, Sandow, Hunt, Mullen, Pearce). Unfortunately we might have seen Reynolds’ name in this top 10 list had he played all four rounds.

Brett Morris
– Did he even miss a game last week? His stats are still so good and it’s almost a given that he would be topping the charts had he played. Still first for line-breaks with 6, third for tackle breaks (22; only 2 behind first place) and fourth with kick-return metres (202; 108 behind first)

Curtis Rona
– Rona has been sound in attack for us all season. Leading the comp for tries (5), and equal second in line-breaks (5)

Moses Mbye
- has had one less match than most in the top 10 lists which might be masking how his stats compare against the rest. However he’d be up there for one on field goals (if there was one) and still has a 40/20 next to his name.

Josh Reynolds
– his performance in game one has kept him in the top 10 for line-break assists over the past 3 rounds, although he is now sitting in at 10[SUP]th[/SUP]. If he takes the field this week hopefully he can rise to the top again. Has a 40/20 next to his name.

Trent Hodkinson
– Third for line-break assists with 3. We all know how well his conversions are going.

Aiden Tolman
– Still up there ranking second for hit-ups with 72, but now trailing behind Gallen (89)

Michael Lichaa
– We knew Ennis would leave behind a hole, but that definitely wasn’t a defensive one (as some worried). His tackle count in the last game was very impressive (59) and he is 8[SUP]th[/SUP] in the league with 179 tackles.

James Graham
– Sitting equal fourth for hit-ups with 69 hit-ups. We are the only team with 2 forwards in the top 5 for hit-ups, but only 3 tackles separate fourth from 10[SUP]th[/SUP] at this stage. His passing game still ranks him with the playmakers/centres for line-break assists (3[SUP]rd[/SUP] place with 3 assists).

Sam Kasiano
– Seems to be holding onto the ball more than he has been previously (12 offloads; only 4 made from the past 2 matches). Has dropped to fourth from 1[SUP]st[/SUP] place, but only two offloads separate 1[SUP]st[/SUP] from 4[SUP]th[/SUP].

Not-so positives

Kicking game. We have Hodkinson in 5[SUP]th[/SUP] with 9 long kicks to the opposition, and Mbye at 7[SUP]th[/SUP] with 7 kicks, and neither of them have made the top 10 for long kicks to open space. Luckily we are a good enough side to win without having a solid kicking game, but if we could improve on this even a little then our games wouldn’t require that effortful grind and I think we’d be rolling teams.

Also Hodkinson and Graham are no longer in the top 10 for try assists, they have two each and would be joined by Moses on 2. Though this is only 1 assist away from the majority of the pack.

Disappointing
Really? Is this in reference to our kicking game? We would certainly like to see our players topping every positive chart, but I would think disappointment would come from seeing some of our players on the missed tackles/errors/penalties conceded lists (which thankfully we don't).

Keep these stats coming. Love it!!!
I plan to do so, glad you appreciate them :D

Kicking, passing and running game from our halves.

Errors usually come from trying things and our error rate is great as we do not try anything on the field.

Yes we are 3 from 4 though we beat Parra and Tigers who are rubbish, the dogs always seem to struggle and make the poorer teams look like world beaters. We beat a depleted manly who are not 20% of what they were in previous teams.

We will get found out against the quality teams like Souths, Roosters, Cowboys (if they find there stride). Penrith, another quality team

I don't see how our current style can match it with the better teams, though I hope I am wrong

Seriously?

They were better than us for 70 minutes. Give credit where it is due and stop finding excuses (refs) when we lose.

You could also say that we were lucky against the tigers

against penrith it was not being robbed of a win but moreso being robbed of the chance to win with things such as the shitty forward pass call

You have to take the good with the bad.

From memory a couple of years back Manly were robbed a chance of a win when Reynolds performed a perfect 10/10 somersault which resulted in a penalty goal victory?

well according to that logic then everything was balanced out unlike what was the final few minutes of the game with the panthers, no?

Hate?

Do you know the definition of hate or do you try and refine it to suit your statements and arguments?

It's a forum to discuss matters on the bulldogs as a club and a team, be it good or bad criticism. The only hate generated is users like yourself trying to create a hate database when an argument does not tickle your inner ear.

That's the way you look at it and you ain't right or wrong, it's your opinion.

Refereeing blunders are used to cover up the weakness of a team.

Don't get me wrong, the refs can sure change the momentum of a game but every lose we encounter it's either the fault of the referees, a depleted side or mother nature not supplying us the forecast to suit us.

Haha alot of people on here think everything bulldogs is great and anyone that says otherwise is not a real supporter and hates the club. Some people are beyond bias with some of the statements on here and the statements are almost stupid. I mean how could anyone say penrith got lucky against us? Aha

I don't think this is accurate at all,
I think people are happy to discuss players form and recruitment and retention,
I just think people are getting bored with the constant disrespectful spiteful hatred by supporters towards highly regarded players who may be out of form,

I don't know how more bluntly I can put it,

By all means post away and discuss poor form of players, but remember you don't make NRL level without have very high ability,

So sure post what you like, just do it with a bit of respect knowing you are talking about extreamly talented individuals,

admittedly i am a "what could have been" guy

i don't really think if that pass wasn't called forward we would necessarily win but it's the chance - refereeing errors have always annoyed me more than they should whether it's us vs someone or raiders vs someone

I've been here a very long time. You've been here two weeks.
I've seen your type many times before. You're a complainer. You've come on here to find people that share your contempt.
Generally your type aren't stayers, you'll not find the hatred you seek and will go bac to bothering your friends and family.
