4 players on dev contracts only get 75k. Why re sign okunbor when he’s not to be picked 1st grade. No depth signings. Just go after quality in the 17. Why re sign wakeham just waste of cash
Wakeham is still in contract for next season

After we pay for JT, Capewell, Taupau, the Cheese and upgrading Burton to a 10 year deal..

Fuck all
You forgot about Dufty who we are signing as a fullback/hooker hybrid.

Plus Pangai Jnr

And you need to account for Matterson who despite getting concussed every time he puts a hat on we are going to sign as per the kennel

Almost none for backs unless some current ones leave, space for forwards.

I'm really curious as to how much cap we have left for next year particularly if we move on a number of players at the end of this year. For example will we have enough money for both a decent hooker and prop etc.

I realise these figures won't be 100% accurate but I've tried to do my best based on what's been reported, what I personally know about Adam Elliott's salary and what we would currently pay each player to fit them under the current cap of $9.02M. In 2022 the cap will be $9.11M

Top 30 for 2022 if we shed Napa, Hopa, JMK, Lewis, S, Katoa, Britt, Roumanos, Ogden, Crichton and Meaney. Meaney might be a keeper though if he's willing to extend for 120K

480K Elliott
270K Wakeham
400K Allan
200K Waddell
600K DWZ
300K Hetherington
220K Averillo
200K Stimson
500K Jackson (+200K outside cap in long standing player allowance)
450K Flanagan
750K Thompson
120K Doorey
650K Cotric
400K RFM
550K JAC
450K Burton
350K Naden
120K Deitz - re-sign on minimum wage
120K Seumanufagai - re-sign on minimum wage
200K Okunbor - re-sign
150K Atoni - re-sign
120K T.Katoa - re-sign on minimum wage
120K Schoupp
120K Topine
120K Alamoti
120K 26
120K 27
120K 28
120K 29
120K 30
---
$8,560,000
This leaves around $550,000 in a cap of 9.11M so if you combine this with the $120,000 minimum for player 26 - 30 it means we could sign a star hooker OR a star prop (NOT both) for around $670,000 if we sign minimum wage players for spots 27-30 OR we could split that $550,000 extra among 2 or 3 players combining it with the 120K allocated minimum for each player

Unfortunately I can't see us being able to afford Dufty or Hynes, a decent hooker and a decent prop.

I think we should throw the $670,000 or whatever at B.Smith as he will make the biggest difference. If we can't get B.Smith or Daryl Clark though go for the 3 cheapies below

260K Mitchell Kenny
300K Bunty Afoa
350K Matt Dufty

When DWZ is off contract at the end of next year we have to shed him no matter how he is playing and use his money to buy a decent prop. We may need to upgrade Burton too with some of that money.

Please Dogs shop Elliott around ASAP. He aint worth 480K (+ a car). I got this figure direct from someone who helped negotiate his recent contract
Go back and shoot him.

Well i haven't a clue "ow much" but must be some decent cap at the bottom line SURELY, and hopefully more than the OP has guesstimated because we need a 9 and at the very least one near to elite prop plus another good one if do-able.
Wouldn't be upset if there was enough left and Hynes wanted to front up too but he would be a luxury extra..again nfi if we're in that discussion should be a secondary priority at this point in time.

Mate who are you are accountant. Under any circumstance should anyone know the salary cap of are club. Judging by your question and context, you sound like a typical journalist, anyone that does have info do not share and keep it private.

As I stated it's not 100% accurate but it's an attempt to get an idea of how much cap we have left thus who we can sign. There's talk of us chasing JT for 1.2M a season, Ryan Papenhuyzen etc. which if untrue gives us false expectations that there's more money available than there actually is. It would be nice to know who we can afford and how many. Aren't you curious ? I'm happy if others who know more than me can contribute because I'd really like to know if we can afford a Brandon Smith + Toby Rudolf + Hynes, etc.

With the way our team are performing at the moment the only thing to look forward to is potential signings and actual signings.

It’s not so straight forward, there’s third party deals incorporated and you can front-load back-load contracts.. there’s also clubs paying some freight like Roosters are for flanno.

It’s actually quite remarkable though, how on earth do the Roosters, Parra, Souths, Brisbane fit in all these players under the cap? Teddy, Crighton and Kleary alone are 3M, Moses, Gutho, Paulo and Matterson at 3M, Mitchell, Arrow, Cook, Murray at 3M.. and these teams additionally have decent players and depth.. go figure.

Mate you are entitled to your question without a doubt. However there known journalists lurking on this forum, with known members to have good sources with solid information, hence my concern for this post that’s all.

Nasheed here,
This is a fairly accurate guess. I made a similar thread three months back.
The jist is accurate in the sense we have room for one more stud. But I thought the cap is 9.6k? So it’s one stud plus one above average.

some things to note.
Hetherington is on 400.
Thompson is on 700
Stimson I do not know but he is definitely on a lot more than 200. He was a form player at melb, I’ll guess 300 or 350.
I’m also a little curious why you’d prefer to sign Tui over Meaney?

I think Meaney would be on slightly more than minimum wage so if we got Dufty he wouldn't be needed. Katoa would definitely be minimum wage so no sense replacing him unless we can identify a better player for the same minimum wage. Meaney is definitely better than Katoa
