I grew up (first 18 years) in Sydney and i cannot remember it ever being 43 in Sydney and almost 48 in Penrith. Up here on the GC we were whinging about 33 degrees being hot today. 43 is ridiculous.

While we are having record heat, in the other hemisphere (i.e USA) they are getting artic blasts and temperatures below -50c with wind chill. People are freezing to death there, and over here they are dying from heat. Crazy planet

Where I am it was about 47 today. Raced outside at one point with the IR thermometer I have.

Road - 78 degrees
Meter box - 67 degrees
Driveway & stones - 62 degrees
Metal solar light - 65 degrees

and in my 5 minutes outside almost melted my thongs :(

That's the problem with these new estates/housing areas. Trees absorb a shitload more heat than people realise.

It was 35 in the burgh, with a light sea breeze, so I went to Penrith.

Ask your landlord to install air conditioning

Haha I thought I was escaping the heat by coming to New York but now I am stuck in a bloody blizzard!! They are telling people not to stay outside longer then about 20mins cause people are ending up with frostbite in that short time.
