Barrett can see what we see - since his appointment he would have been reviewing videos of our performances and he would be using the Panthers as an aspirational benchmark.

So the question will be does the contracted player currently have (or potentially have) the ability to be part of a squad that can be a premiership contender and where are the gaps.

Current ability is plain to see, what will be more interesting is where he sees potential talent / development in the current squad, including U20's and the younger CCup players.
Exactly. I can't imagine DWZ, Hoppa, Remis, Tolman, Montoya, Holland or Lewis even making the Penrith CC side let alone FG - that's why their on their way out. I think the Penrith experience will make him a much better coach. Hopefully he has been sitting in on the defensive sessions because that's the one area of the game where Manly struggled. If he nails that, we'll be a top 4 side in the next couple of years.

D Clarke contracted to end of 2023. If he was signed we’d pay a transfer fee to Warrington. Does anyone know if these transfer fees are these included in salary cap?
I'm pretty sure that transfer fees don't count towards the salary cap.

Trent Barrett apparently has told William Hopoate and DWZ that they are not in his future plans and that if they can secure another gig elsewhere for next year, they will be granted a release. This has not gone over well with Tyran Smith and he is making moves to take out his whole stable of players, which includes his son. English international Oliver Gildhardt could be on the move to Belmore to replace Hoppa as a specialist left centre with Trent Barrett being a big fan. A source close to Barrett has also confirmed Jake Averillo will be the Bulldogs number 1, come round 1. So the Bulldogs could go from the worst attacking side to having one of the fastest most dangerous looking back lines. This being next year’s possible lineup:

1. Jake Averillo
2. Josh Ado Carr
3. Oliver Gildhardt
4. Nic Cotric
5. Jayden Okunbor
6. Matt Burton
7. Kyle Flanagan

Exciting times ahead at Belmore.
He aint getting rid of Hoppa! Not a chance! Big gamble if he does considering the side we have

I am led to believe they count in the administration cap. I recall that from when we had to pay St.Helens for Luke Thompson.

Remis & DWZ make sense. Neither did anything in 2020 to justify retaining. Hoppa I would have thought would be good for 2021 but perhaps not beyond that unless he was prepared to drop a lot in coin. He has the brains but no speed

I think I'm right in saying admin staff salary cap not player salary cap.
Sorry mate, just my opinion. I just remember tho reading here bateman had to take some pay cut because of trf fee.
