I like the look of this, get this up you Toyota ya cheapskates.

Rugby League has today joined forces with the biggest brand in Australian motoring – Holden – for a whole-of-game partnership that will drive the Greatest Game of All into a spectacular new era.

The finalisation of a three-year partnership between the National Rugby League and Holden brings together two iconic Australian brands and will start a stunning new chapter in the biggest annual series in Australian sport – the Holden State of Origin Series.

Over the next three years, Holden will support every level of the game from grassroots communities to the most prestigious team in Australian Rugby League – the Holden Kangaroos.

i think holden were getting bail out payments from the government on a regular basis just to keep going.
now here it is the games tv channel is up **** creek owing over $1billion, now the games major sponsor who needs government handouts becomes the major jersey sponsor.

and the cheerleaders can be called "The Barinas"

But this agreement comes with WAY too many naming rights. It'll smother the NRL brandwise, and will lead to other sponsors pulling out as they won't get as much attention.

Not to mention, but something nobody picked up on... Why is NRL Interim CEO Shane Mattiske in this article and involved with this? What happened to that other Smith bloke or whatever his name is? He's the NRL CEO, HE should be involved in these things.

Unless the ARLC grand plan is to have him locked away in an office playing with numbers all the time whilst Mattiske as Interim CEO makes all the announcements/media commitmenets, and ARLC work them both like puppets from behind the scenes?

Something about this while thing just doens't seem right.

And how does this affect clubs with rivals as sponsors (Tigers with Hyundai and Cows with Toyota)....
