It's a bit of a weird situation for me with this. I have a lot of sympathy for small farmers. But I know a few farmers who operate on a larger scale. They've generally gotten to the larger scale farming through being a bit predatory when neighbours have issues. They're quick to put a hand out for what they can get, but not so willing to give back in a meaningful way when they're making good money.
Obviously it's not good to throw them all in the same group. But I'd only donate to these groups if I knew that my donation isn't going to a farmer that is big enough to absorb the cost of feeding through the drought.
