Have we forgotten we still need to extend Burton?

We are spending big on Kikau and Mahoney. But do we still have money to extend Burton? I'm sure Gus has it all sorted #InGusWeTrust

We only have 4 players signed for 2024 plus Burton on a Players Option, so we have 25 spots to fill for that year. We can then fill ~15 spots in the next 12 months and then have ~10 spots free to negotiate on 1st November 2022.

I got worried that we would lose Burton but it seems unlikely now. Shouldn't even be stressing it's too far in the future.

Why even question it then? He isn't even training with us yet.

We still have some plodders to offload like: Flamingo, Stimson and Allan to free up a lot of money.
They are all off contract before 2024, so no offloading required.

Burton is the number one priority. Gus will make sure he locks him up long term well before he can negotiate with other clubs. Under previous administrations I'd be worried. With Gus around and with the roster we've assembled, I'm confident Burton and our best juniors will be re-signed.

He's locked in for 2 seasons on a good contract, we have stacks of players off in 24 and some contracted ones will be moved on between them and now...it isn't an issue at this stage.

Outside Storm, Roosters and Panthers on paper our teams looking as good as anyone for 2023 (most likely will not re-sign some players in our best 17 + move some players on, but still). Burton will want to stay. We'll find the money to keep him.

With all the talk about our cap and recent recruitment I got a little worried but now I have been proven wrong. No need to stress, no need to worry we have it all sorted.
The media just like stirring shit when it comes to our club, because they know it sells papers. All of the reported figures have just had 50k added to their previous gestiments, just to suit their narative.
