Has Xerri lost his speed?

Would be happy with him and critta as centres for next year. Need stability in the line up, great having players who can come in and do a job but he’ll only get better as the side builds more chemistry.

He has been going well. How good is it to have some size and speed in the backline. Only a few years ago we had dweebs like Kerrod Holland lining up in the centres.

I think for us majority of fans we expected a little more speed from Xerri. Reports from Roger Fabri in the off season were saying Xerri is quicker than he’s ever been so the expectation was set then. But I have faith in Ciraldo to have him primed and in even better shape next season. He’s coming along nicely

He is strong enough to bust line and give it to the fox.
It’s a lethal left edge. Kikau, Burton, xerri, fox. Have Tracey pop up there too and maybe link in Mann with a pass maybe from sex on legs. That would be a slick movement.

You man up on Xerri Foxx is open, you put 2 on kikau and he gets an offload watch out. Or you push up on button and he gets it to big Willy he will run over you. Fingers crossed we stay fit. I know people don’t like fox because of his injuries. But I doubt we get for without him. Both his presence, his voice, his experience and his defence. Vital player that I would only swap for To’o and no one else.

Yeah probably not hey... They were good grabs and timing on the runs but you hardly need a 600k plus a year showman to get em.

I'll agree JAC would make his inside man play better with his experience and chatter though.
Would you rather go Wilson or Skelton? Honest question.

Depends on the game and game plan..

If I had to make a call it would be Wilso just for sheer footy experience but then again if we play 7s rugby game plan like we did against the Broncs how do you not go with Skelly?

I wish we keep both which is why I'm not fussed if we lose JAC after contract end, it literally pays for both.

With kids like Sua and Mazonne in the works the plan is pretty solid.

Safe to say we are pretty blessed in that department.

It’s undeniably an excellent piece of business keeping both for the price of Fox. I would’ve been skeptical prior to Skeltons performances letting fox go, but being rationale and seeing Skeltons potential it would be rash to not pick 2 for the price of 1. Wilson and Skelton are different in every aspect with little downside they make the perfect pairing. Fox is a luxury player to have but the injuries have been a deterrence, love him but it’s team over player.

JAC actually backed off for just a split second before Xerri made the line break in the pic, this left him in a kinda awkward spot and savage ended up on his outside so he come back on the inside of Xerri, great awareness from tracey here to anticipate the line break though. Just unfortunate Xerri didn't realize that JAC went inside, maybe he couldn't hear over the crowd? That said, Canberra scrambled very well here and had multiple players back View attachment 115501
My favourite part of this was that Xerri burned Timoko on the outside for the first fox try but this time he knows Timoko will be sliding so he shapes to go out then steps inside and just takes off, you can watch it again to see what I mean.

First glimpse of what he is really capable of and if he can consistently trouble his man one on one he can be a top centre. Still thinks he needs to drop some kgs though, long way to go.

I think the speed is there, this time of year, most are carrying injuries and not @100%. For a centre, he ticks the boxes speed and size wise… if he can time his last pass and find the Fox more often, he’ll continue to improve his game. His in-and-away offload to Fox was sublime.

Yeah it was a nice move, he is getting better as his confidence and match fitness/awareness returns. It is also easy to forget because of his long suspension, he has only played 22 first grade games before this season, he is just a pup lol. I think with this season under his belt and a proper off-season where he hasn't been plucked from the wilderness, it will do him wonders.

Gotta say, Xerri is not just holding his spot anymore, he is getting up there with our top few players. Bends the line constantly, solid defensively, very few mistakes, regularly burns his opponent with speed, and his judgement on when to pass and when to run is getting better each game.

If/when JAC starts positioning himself better those two will be tearing it up on that left edge.

Xerri is doing really well for someone who had like 4 years off. And seems to be improving the longer he plays. Good buy. You can also tell hes grateful and keen for the chance to resurrect his career and make up for lost time

And those 2 tries, it wasnt just that Sexton made a few great plays, Xerri did really well to get to that first kick, and to take that bullet pass at short range for the second try
