Has a coach though even coached his team against another team which his son happens to be in before?

They haven't yet. Tigers got smashed by the Panthers in round 2 - Taylor got sacked the following week.

This will be very interesting indeed - provided Clearly doesn't get injured/suspended before then.

A better question would be weather Nathan Cleary would be in first grade now if Ivan was still coach at the Panthers. Ivan did say after Nathans debut that he would've struggled to promote Nathan due to him being his son and he wouldn't want people to think that Nathan Cleary was only in the team due to that.
