Harry Hayes Appreciation thread

because ciro won't drop him

If we ever get fully fit it will be interesting to watch. So many better options atm plus Galvin coming mid season is a huge factor as it’s another spot gone for salmon.

it just doesn't make sense to re-sign salmon for another 2 years to end up playing nsw cup.

Injury has put Hughes back.

Dunno whos better or not (dont care both play for us so happy days), but Harry is progressing FAST.

Hughes best year and pretty much only full year was last year and he ended it averaging 85 metres good tackle percentage.

Harry this year is averaging over 110 metres a game and makes his tackles too.

Which is why I couldn't understand nor was happy with his extension

He's clearly going to be nothing but a back up in the fans eyes unfortunately ciraldo won't see it that way and it just doesn't make any sense

You're right about Hayes improving fast, probably improving faster than any other forward at the club. I'm still backing Hughes to come out on top if he can stay fit...bigger frame, good data and dominates at wrestling. Could easily see him getting let go though when you consider availability, contract status on him and other players, and the fact we invested heavily in Thompson....praying that reported 825k isn't even close to being true lol.

What I love about Hayes is how direct he is. He loves to hit the ball fast, find a little gap and just go as hard as he can.

It really helps us stay on top of the opposition.

I reckon the club would reconsider the Thompson signing now, or at least take a longer look at it when you consider the development of Hayes and Hopoi, and the leap King has taken from being a really good first grade forward, to a top 5 prop in the game.

With the acquisition of Latu, and Todd/Underhill emerging and Hughes returning from injury, it’s really hard to see the value in the Thompson signing now.

Don’t get me wrong I was really excited when we signed him, but we probably should’ve backed our own development considering the price tag.

Yeah so Hughes is signed for next season and DSF isn’t. What’s the point hey ?

I wont comment on Leo lol

Its bad luck for Sam because after the trial i thought this would be the year for him, and now hes not even in the team.

I still think he will be in the team as soon as Sexton or Reed gets punted.

Actually i will comment on Leo LOL, i think you are right in we will lose guys, we just have to many good.middle forwards now and not all will wont to sit in NSW cup.

I like Leo as a player and he will make us better imo, but he really isnt needed. Like not at all imo

This is what i think, before signing him we heard the talk of them wanting a "alpha" prop, thats wat we needed. Well to me King is "alpha" enough right now, he can be the pack leader. Hes running harder than ever and hes even smashing blokes in tackles.
