I think it's that ringing sound you hear after being roundhouse kicked to the head by Guetto Hatsis..What's a deftones?
Don't know it - I'll check it out.New Deftones album out today. Well worth a listen. My initial reaction after first listen is it’s an absolute ripper.
Slap some Kora on too if Fat Freddy's ya jamDon't know it - I'll check it out.
My faves are Fat Freddy's Drop.
Thanks. I'm also into Duke Ellington big time. Recently picked up a CD by Mammal Hands, which I quite like.Slap some Kora on too if Fat Freddy's ya jam
Just Koras first self titled album. The others have a different sound to there first one and Imo there first is bestThanks. I'm also into Duke Ellington big time. Recently picked up a CD by Mammal Hands, which I quite like.
Classics are my thing, too. I especially like Handel and Purcell.
Have a nice sound system, with vacuum tube front end and massive Mosfet amp to push the speakers right down to their full 32hz. Makes Fat Freddy sing, and brings out the full floor shaking bass of London Grammar's "Hey Now".
I'm 71, and still have pretty good hearing. Always interested in new music.
Often the way. I volunteer at our local station, 2BACR - I'll check out that album from their music access system.Just Koras first self titled album. The others have a different sound to there first one and Imo there first is best
An alternative metal band. What's a deftones?
I'm here mate. I've been on the forum for 5 months and I just discovered "The Lounge" LOLNo Deftones fans to share my joy. Sad face
Maybe when you consider other popular trends these days, the lack of popularity is actually a badge of honour!I'm here mate. I've been on the forum for 5 months and I just discovered "The Lounge" LOL
Ohm is a pretty good album - not as good as White Pony but still a decent album
One of my favourite bands - it's sad that most people haven't heard of them yet everyone knows who friggin Justin Beiber is
I seen the deftness at the iron duke ( pub in Sydney capcity 400) played there a handful of times myself. Was a great show could never get into them on cds ect what's a good starting point?Maybe when you consider other popular trends these days, the lack of popularity is actually a badge of honour!
I find it hard to pick a favourite album if theres. I really love Around the Fur and Koi No Yokan and White Long is obviously a classic. Ohms is great in its own right though. I like thst they have never tried to make white pony 2 (unless you count the upcoming remix album.) The best hands avoid repeating themselves and keep it interesting.
Yep that's one of the criticisms of the band (and most bands) that they're always trying to change their sound and it usually pisses off their original fans (like Incubus and Avenged Sevenfold) but for me the Deftones pull it off.Maybe when you consider other popular trends these days, the lack of popularity is actually a badge of honour!

Yeah, I’ve never been much of an avenged sevenfold fan, but I think incubus just became too commercial. I haven’t listened to any of their recent stuff, but I think they went downhill after S.C.I.E.N.C.E.Yep that's one of the criticisms of the band (and most bands) that they're always trying to change their sound and it usually pisses off their original fans (like Incubus and Avenged Sevenfold) but for me the Deftones pull it off.
I never saw this thread. Haven’t had the chance to listen to it intently. No Deftones fans to share my joy. Sad face
