Gus grow a backbone and fight for the club!!
Gus grow a backbone and fight for the club!!
I respect Gus, but this is a cowardly move on his part.Gus won't because he knows CC is not that kind of emotional coach.
These incidents wil be played down and we will just suck it up.
There will be no change to the line up either except where injuries occur.
They are happy to stay in the build up phase with Gus saying we are bottom 4 this year.
Yes he has. Acceptance of this particular kind of play possibly takes it to a different level tho and may open a pandora's box.Gus has been very vocal in not being in favour of the obstruction rule in the past
Do you have a theory on that mate?Doubt he would answer but it would be good to know Goulds genuine thoughts on the fact that apart from Brown and Davey all the dogs injuries - to Patolo Thompson Hughes TPJ Pele - didnt happen in actual games and all middles.
Given that its middle forwards, at the very least the club i would hope is looking at any contributing factors that are "controllable" - the other aspect is that the initial expectation of return dates have been continually extended.Do you have a theory on that mate?
Bad luck. Coincidence. Training methods. Flogging them with too heavy a load early on that the individual could not sustain.
Not sure. Realisticly our middles are one of the smallest lot in the NRL compared to who they are up against. Even the bigger guys like Patolo aren't as "physical" as other middles in opposition teams.Given that its middle forwards, at the very least the club i would hope is looking at any contributing factors that are "controllable" - the other aspect is that the initial expectation of return dates have been continually extended.
Could even be a concentration thing - losing focus resulting in injuries.
100%. He is saying it should have been a penalty, but in his view it's not an obstruction which has always been the way hes approached obstructions in the past.TBH, it’s handled perfectly. I’m still fkn angry though lol.. The Gus 99/100 comment is the shot at officials.
Absolutely yep move on asap, Cows next week in our patch and their also undermanned.100%. He is saying it should have been a penalty, but in his view it's not an obstruction which has always been the way hes approached obstructions in the past.
I still don't understand why people think Gus and CC should go nuclear in front of the press on the refs? What will this achieve? One of the key attributes to becoming a winning team is accountability. If CC and Gus come out and blame the refs, where's the accountability in that for us? We had ample opportunity to win the game before and after that try. If Alamoti finds Addo Carr and doesn't throw that intercept, would this even be a discussion? If we make 4 errors instead of 9, if we miss 20 tackles instead of 37, if we chance our arm and break the line 5 times instead of 2... you get where I am going. We can only focus on what is within our control. We had plenty of chances to ice that game yesterday but lacked execution to do so. This is something the team needs to improve. It almost (should have) cost us against Tigers and Storm could have easily beat us too.
Blowing up at the refs does us and the team absolutely zero favours. Get over it.
Could be - which accentuates the point being made since late last year that the club needed middles yet they signed Reynolds! Not sure. Maybe the coaching staff, knowing this, have been giving them a very heavy program and they've broken down/sustained training accidents as a result?

I think it was Brandy that pointed it out after the game but all we have is Mahoney and Burton to create anything in attack. Flanno is easy pickings because he catches and passes all the time and Hayze is just a runner of the ball.Like a few of you said
It’s got nothing against this call, we had the chance to take the lead down in their line with 10 to go and we couldn’t break the line to score. I feel like we are a bit nervous and not playing what’s in front of us like last week and the game against Melbourne. We kind of went into our shell and that showed. Especially when the stats show we haven’t scored in the last 20 minutes this year. That’s very scary and other teams will be looking at that saying if we can get infront of the score line with 20 to go then we can win the games against the dogs
