Salary cap has been mismanaged by the club for so long by numerous boards, it’s just a major shit show

What abt Brandon smith
We've given up on Smith. He is Bellamy fav player and Bellamy will ensure Storm keep Smith...finding the cap space necessary. With the big 3 and Finucane departing, B Smith is the heart and soul of the Storm. He's going nowhere!!!

WhT about sleepy tho
As it’s well observed, Sleepy is batting at 100% and he did say any announcement would be end of season.. patience.

But, if it doesn’t happen, so be it. We have recruited well and we can build from it. At the very least, we picked up Josh Cook, he looks like a promising 9 and in our top 30.

Its good to see positives in our recruiting. However, for there to be any success,
the club needs to get back on side with the NRL administration. I'm not sure that will happen under Gus.

NRL will give us another stitch up draw to drain all the confidence

Manly - home
Melb - home
Sharks - away
Roosters - away
Eels - home game for us at Wankfest

Will be lucky to get a cumulative 10 penalties/6 agains in those games with majority coming in the ladt 10-20 minutes
And that's only after the game is completely out of our reach.

The problem is that the NRLol have absolutely no idea on how to run their own game. They are creating rules and otherwise warping the interpretation of the game to suit their own agenda. If I could give V'landys one message, that message would be "change the rules back to the traditional game and stay the fvck out of how the game is to be played". He was hired in an adminstrative position and he should stick to that role. What have we done or what are we doing to "not be onside" with the NRLol administration?.

Expecting a couple player shifts in the off-season so that top 29 could change dramatically
It's what is unsaid in that tweet that matters. "Cap is full", means we have a full roster under the cap, at this time. It doesn't mean the cap can't be opened up by releasing some of our current players.

Also note only two players are signed beyond 2023 - it will be interesting to see what the squad looks like by 2024.

It is going to have to be carefully managed. We had 15 players off contract this season and it really hasn't helped.

Difference is that we are talking a two season span, not one, and we have an actual GM footy now, not a brand new coach having to part time the job.

Gus has done more in 1 month than Price did in his entire capacity, that was just a knee jerky move on the Anderson ticket to win member votes based on “Bulldog DNA”…

Fast forward to the now, we have managed to recruit the best footy GM available to the greatest game of all and… he too has Bulldog DNA. Future is bright.

Gus is by far the biggest difference maker that has happened since the Anderson's went. JK possibly emerging as a distant but important 2nd.

But but, lets give the Anderson's the chance to do the job says the Anderson cheerleaders on here.....

By far they were the biggest embarrassment in charge....

As opposed to Uncle Ray, the author of the salary cap grave :tearsofjoy:. At least any chance of him coming back as CEO was nuked by decent members :-).

So you think Warriors signed him for $800k ??
The likeliest scenario would have been
DWZ was on approximately on 800k at the Dogs, fullback's money
Warriors probably signed him on a winger's price at 450k a season
Dogs will pay the balance of this year for him to play for the Warriors and use the amount as front loading payment clearing the full 800k or thereabouts for next year's cap.

I will say one thing about Gould. As much as I want Barrett gone, Gould will only make decisions based on what he thinks is best for the team and the club.

He will weigh up Barrett’s prospects to succeed, our position financially, our junior development program, our sponsors, and finally what he thinks needs to happen for us to be a force again.

Bastard. How dare he look at things logically. Can’t we just sack that prick and sign Cheese for fuck sake????

:tearsofjoy: :tearsofjoy:

barett and the coaching staff only got 8 weeks of next season to prove themselves but if they go good gus is still sacking the assistants and ferris most likely and get actual good coaching staff around him but if they go bad they are all getting sacked[/QUOTE]
