I've been a harsh critic at times during the year but it's been a very good end to the year, much better than last year.

Are we going to be a top 4 team next year, probably not but top 8 is within reach. You only need to win half your games to be there.

For the moment enough with the negative threads about how shit next year will be, let's hope the boys have a great off season, come back fit and firing and there's an addition or two to the squad.

Well done to all those who made their debuts for us and hopefully they're better for it next year.

    Go Dogs!

I don’t post very often but I thought I’d share this thought...

I know it’s disappointing that we didn’t make the 8, but that finish to the year was amazing.

BUT. You know the Dogs are back and the fans know that other teams are fearing us again when the Bulldogs Chant went around the whole stadium in the last minute.... I hadn’t heard that for years and years. Gave me goosebumps!

Can’t believe the season is over for us already, but the last couple of months or so I have been nothing but proud to be a dog and for me to think I would be saying that earlier this year is a true testament to pay and the playing group.

Well done to all players tonight they stood up and gave it again to a top 8 team. I now have some confidence next year that it will be the beginning of our rise back to the top.

    Go you almighty doggies

I love it. We are going into next season not worrying about:
    1) salary cap problems (in fact, we know that we have money to buy some players nor next year);
    2) who the coach will be or whether the players have faith in deano;
    3) whether our defence is capable and whether we can compete.
    4) whether michael lichaa will be around.
    5) speed and muscle (although can be better)
    6) whether foran can prove his worth

Bring on the dogs in 2020

Knocked off four teams in the top eight along the way. Made some look ordinary. Finished two points out of the eight. Great finish to the year.

I’m so proud of the way the boys finished this year. This is the bulldogs I grew up supporting. I’ve not enjoyed watching us play as much as I have in the past 2-3 months in a very long time.
I honestly don’t think we need to be throwing around 1m contracts. A few quality players in some key positions to go with what we’ve built this year and we are a genuine threat. I’m thinking the main positions we need are another centre, hooker and maybe a front rower

The end to this year is different to previous years with bulk wins towards the end. Unlike previous years, we we're losing experience, with the likes of the Moz bros, Klem, Eastwood. This year we're losing a few players, but more deadwood. I heard a stat on fox saying the last time we held this many teams under 16 point in a row was in the 90s. With the likes of Stimson coming, and experience gained from young blokes, we'll be in good stead next year.

I’m happy that we cleared the bottom 4 in the table. Lots of experts would’nt have predicted that. Wish the season went on for another 4 games

We were all disappointed with the early part of the season and for the most part there were calls for the coach to be sacked.

Yes, it was certainly not rosy and our play smacked of Z grade footy at times and then of course there were the inevitable complaints about team selection.

What happened to the team for the last third of the season??

We actually developed self belief and the players pulled together as a group to put their bodies on the line for each other and start to gel into something more like a competitive footy team. They played for themselves, the coach, the club and most certainly for the fans.

They looked like they were enjoying the game again and we saw some really entertaining attacking play and some really brutal defence where at times they defended as if there was no tomorrow.

We finally got to see Nick Meaney in the clear; Jacko hitting like a hammer and running those great angles that he did years ago; chain passing instead of one out hit ups; Elliot running hard and straight ; RFM getting a go and not letting us down, Foran staying healthy, offering so much on field plus so many more positive things...

I stuck by the team even in those dim times, travelled my kilometres feeling that maybe this week we would have a win...some pretty quiet times on the trips home , the jibes of supporters of other teams who were travelling far better than we were ringing in my ears....but then wow the last 6 or so weeks have been a breath of fresh air, a revelation indeed and the enjoyment slowly crept back into the watching of the team, seeing them develop and grow.

Good on you fellas....if a couple of those narrow losses had gone the other way we could have been playing semis even with the bad year we had. One loss outside the top eight; an admirable outcome considering our poor early form and leaking of points....

I have a better feeling for our chances next year;we may or may not make the semis, who knows; but at least some of the young blokes who were thrown into the deep end this year will be one year wiser, more experienced and with a better understanding of how to win consistently.

I know that there is life in the old dog yet...

You are a dead set nuisance, actually a moron.

What players are you referring to? Koroisau? Ramien? You want to pay overs for those flogs?

DWZ wasn't happy at the Panthers and got a release. We nabbed him. You can go around in fucken circles and bitch and moan that "Tigers didn't have cap room", yadda yadda yadda. There is no proof and the only proof is that we nabbed him.

People going on about Latrell Mitchell, Manu, Ponga, etc...use are going on about players who are still contracted to their clubs. Clubs who will let them go if they so wish!

Latrell Mitchell wanted to come to the Dogs. Fat fuck Cleal and Hasler said no

James Roberts wanted to come, they said no.

Connor Watson wanted to come and they said no.

Munster said he chose Bellamy over Hasler which every bellend with half a brain would do.

We missed out on Koroisau and Ramien, boo fucken hoo....

We "apparently" missed out on Turpentine....boo fucken hoo

Your "marquee" players are only a small handful of players who are locked up long term and wont be going anywhere other than into retirement - Tedesco, RTS, Munster, Smith, T Turbo and Cronk.

Stop talking smack and wait until the season is over and the market goes into overdrive with players off-contract.

Very good leg speed, footwork and offload. Really makes a difference to our side and gives us some proper punch through the middle and threatens the defence.

Come on mate, that's such a load of shit! I cant stand people saying this shit. We haven't accepted mediocrity at all. That's just bullshit.
The last few years have been tough for many reasons, I need not explain. But suggesting we are accepting mediocrity after the end to this season, and after all of the hard work and tough decisions that have been made is just completely false.

Great win and great end to a tough season (always good to one up the father in law) i wish we started as well as we have been playing the last couple of months but it wasnt to be. Great building block into next season if we can get a good start top eight is more then achievable. Love this club

It was a great finish to the season and the pride and effort for the past few months has been amazing. Unfortunately though the same thing happened the year before and look how we started in 2018 and this year..

All of this will mean nothing if we start off 3-8 again next season and dig ourselves an insurmountable hole. Playing like this when the pressure is on is the key part.

Hopefully we have a huge offseason and build on these performances this time. The attack needs to keep improving and moving forward Ogden, Renouf, RFM, Wakeham and Harper need to play more than they did this season for us to take the next step.

Yeah really stoked we beat the Bronco's. For all the shit thats gone down this year you cant deny the team is trying there best and playing with heart. Some of the younger blokes have improved alot this year. JMK, Cogger, Meany. Dean has lifted our defense. The fact is we have improved the back half of the season. Thats all I care about. We continue to improve, buy a couple of players and who knows what will happen next year. Heres hoping to a big off season.
