Gordy can be a real dumbass at times, but at least he says what he thinks. It is good having people like him on shows like this, as he is not afraid of any potential repercussions for any opinion at all. You can tell a lot of other people play it safe with opinions because they fear backlash.
He looked REALLY down in the dumps about that Queensland performance. He clearly admires how strong the NSW team is, and does not agree with many of the selection decisions Kevvie made. He did try pretty valiantly to not shit on Kevvie's selections (kept saying dropping X person is a decision for Walters) but was eventually goaded into admitting he would not have had some of the selected players in the squad if it was him picking (main one was Nate Myles).
Walters made some really controversial decisions which backfired big time, and it will be really interesting to see what he does now. The only way I can see him not being the most hated man in Queensland come game 2 (assuming the entire team who played game 1 is still available come game 2), is if he drops Myles, Lillyman and O'Neill and brings in Hess, J Wallace and Slater. It is what the masses want, and if he does that and they still lose, people will be a lot less angry at him.
They really need Thurston back too. Milford didn't do shit all, and you can hardly blame him with Cronk next to him. There was way too much pressure on Cronk with Thurston out.
If Thurston isn't back and Milford has indeed cracked his face, oh man they are in huge trouble no matter what other changes they make.
